Hey everyone--remember when asthma was not considered a real disease or condition--when it was supposed to be all in the mind of neurotic kids and their paranoid mothers? When they were left to wheeze and some died because Drs. said there was no physical cause?

How long ago was that? Ahhh yes until the late 1980s.

The point? Just because Medicine has not discovered or pursued a correlation between vaccines and autism does not mean there isn''t one. It can be as simple as NOT the vaccine, but the combination in vaccines that somehow react or contraindicate each other and effect the nervous system. Until actual testings are pursued, we will never know--and they won''t be pursued until the FDA demands it or a certain threshold of autism in the society demands an answer.

As for asthma? When contrast medias and MRI''s were developed sufficiently--a doctor discovered that asthma was a true affliction that the bronchioles and branching were deluged with fluid and people were drowning in their own secretions. So finally, it became a real disease and companies started making medicines for it--once it became "legit". THAT is the way our health system works--so the naysayers about a connection need to understand--there may be one--or there may not be one--but pharm will not pursue what could cause lost revenue--by real challenges--until they are made to.

So...What you are saying is that an unvaccinated child infected your unvaccinated child and now in hindsight, you would have gotten your child vaccinated. And now, pertussis gave your child autism? So maybe the problem is not vaccination per se but the protein coat of that microbe and your child''s genetic predisposition to it?

Which means that had your child been exposed to that same microbe in a vaccine, the result would have been the same. But now, you want to blame the unvaccinated child for your child''s outcome?

Better to direct both your resources and blame into pushing for testing to determine the possible "genetic marker" of persons who will react to protein coats and whose bodies will attack themselves. Otherwise, "hello dumb--meet dumber"

We all know that large amounts of money is a real motivation. It can change one''s perspective. How many folks commit murder for money?? To say there''s no connection is to deny human nature. Why else would these vaccine companies donate so much? Because they get quite a return for their investment!

I''d challenge Dr. Offit himself to receive all the vaccines on the current schedule all AT ONCE. Since there are far less than 10,000 vaccines on the schedule and Dr. Offit is much "bigger and more mature" than a baby, he should take this challenge if he truly believe in what he says, right?

The public needs more of this type of information. Call me biased, but I say that CONNECTIONS say a lot about what is really going on without even being able to get all the facts and figures of these connections.

Why are there so many commercials on TV asking the general public "have you or a loved one suffered a heart attack or stoke or possibly death due to the taking of the drug ?????? (at least three are going now) If so, you may be entitled to compensation. Do you suppose that this has anything to do with the devaluation of the cost of a human life? This year the value went down. Who benefits......BIG BUSINESS...those who have to pay for faulty products or performance errors.

Children have no say in what is put into them. Their parents have no input as to what is put in them if they send them to public schools. So, all the vaccine makers do is GET the officials on their side, and all the vaccines become mandatory.....and the money rolls in. Some kid somewhere will suffer, BUT the benefits outweigh the risks, so they say, unless it is YOUR kid.

Just wait for that big epidemic that is coming when ALL of us will be asked to take a vaccine. WHAT is in it will be the kicker?

These mercury based poisons have got to be taken off the market.

Maybe the issue is benefit to risk ratio?

Yea, when it''s you or your children that draws the short straw on the vaccine risk profile,for you that''s all that matters.

But when the issue becomes one of epidemic or even potential pandemic we have to balance the benefit versus the risk. Have you ever had the flu?

Yes I have had the flu, not often- I wont take the flu shot but keep myself healthy. I am a health care worker and amexposed to the flu frequently, have not had a flu shot for 10 years and use less sick time than anyone I know. My son has autism and I would gladly choose a week of the flu for him or me over a lifetime of autism

These people have no credibility because they have a clear conflict of interest. If a man signs your paycheck, you owe that man your loyalty. If you differ, then you stop taking his paycheck. These folks are owned by the vaccine makers.

Not insane at all. And backed by credible research. Not conclusive in either direction, but enough to raise doubts in thoughtful people.

And ultimately the system is run for profit. Not judging that, it is just a fact--a corporate CEO has no choice but to make as much money for his shareholders as he can. So follow the money. Look at which path provides the most profit. It is only as insane as Capitalism and Corporate-controlled health care is.

This is not about medical scientists investing in medical technologies.

This is about FOR PROFIT corporations investing in non profit groups, and associations, that will promote their products, and even make them mandatory (regardless of their safety or effectiveness).

Nobody is suggesting that we stop vaccinating. But do we really need 55 doses of vaccines by age 6? Why do we have 3x as many vaccines as in the 1980''s?

Who is saying this is safe? The groups that are receiving $$ from pharma.

heaven forbid a medical scientist invest in medical technologies! We should then limit technical scientists from investing in tech applications, life insurance salespersons from buying life insurance,priests from getting funerals,ministers from getting weddings in a church, because good gracious they will all be accused of having an inside conflict of interest between service and product. Make it easier and stop vaccinating and educating so we can reduce medicalization to say the level in Nepal,currently with a ratio of 1 doctor to over 20,000 people and a avg life span of 50 years.

And if this were the case, how do you explain Hannah Poling, and the other cases paid out by the NVICP?

I worked in a health food store for ten years and, frankly, I''m sick and tired of all these conspiracy theories about the medical community.
Granted they make mistakes but to think that vaccines cause autism, or that they''re hiding the cure for cancer so they can make more money is simply insane.
I''ve seen people die of cancer rather than see a doctor.
One of them was Joe Mckenna, Neil Young''s bus driver, one of the most pleasant man I''''ve ever met. What a beautiful smile and attitude he had.
But unfortunately he died in the most painful way because he just refused to see a doctor. He traveled the world over trying all kinds of stuff and nothing worked.
According to his sister surgery could have saved his life.
And this autism conspiracy is also ridiculous. There have been countless studies done with thousands of people and there''s simply no connection between it and vaccines.
Now look at the cases of measles and whooping cough grow because some parents refuse to vaccinate their children.
We''re killing ourselves by worrying way too much.
