All of you people have completely missed the mark on this with your need to blow everything out of proportion. A contractor (read: not the US government) is to blame for this corruption. A single contractor being corrupt and you blame the entire government.

Examples of corruption:
DynCorp - 43.8 million - manufacturing & temporary storage of a residential camp that has never been used. And, an additional 4.2 million to move the camp and construct an Olympic size swimming pool.
36.4 paid by State Dept for weapons and equipment (armoured vehicles, body armour,communication equipment ~ all unaccounted for
Halliburton is currently being investigated for inflated charges and awarding kickbacks to company officials.
The investigators are currently working on 78 open investigations.
Bush is prepared to ask Congress for another $1.2 billion for the same kind of action. (Incidentally, we cannot afford health care for children)
