CBS News Has Learned That Four Managers Were Fired For Role In A Multimillion-Dollar Scheme
- All of you who are jumping down Home Depot's (and the president's ?) back are just full of liberal bull ***. You all stand on your high horse and think that the world owes you something.

I'm not too fond of Bush, though; even if he is my nth cousin... - Reply to this comment
- Uh alphaaa, this story is about Home Depot. I know how you rabid libs just love to blame everything on Bush but, don't think so in this case. So, take another sip of the morning koolaid and stick to the task at hand. Try it, all that angst and anger I bet is putting lines on your face.

Ah, jane, I knew you would be crawling out of the rotting repugnicant wood pile to spew your hatred towards your fellow Americans. Amazing. The story is about Home Depot but you just countn't resist, could you? - Reply to this comment

- This story reminds me of how the drug companies get our doctors to prefer / prescribe certain meds over others.

Yup They treat the symptoms instead of the underlying problems that caused the symptoms to begin with,.......They take payola, that should be illegal - Reply to this comment
- As a Former Manager for Home Depot who left 4 years ago they have gone down hill steadily in service.
Their Schedule Matrix requires less people per hour and more work per person to be Performed. It is simply horrible and there is No end in sight. Less and less professional members and more and more kids who know nothing about the area they work in.
The pay structure is poor and incentive for advancement even less in truth. We are not Managers any more.
I spent more time on paperwork and chasing down trucks and shipments then working the floor as a Manager and Corporate was no help.
I left in disgust and started my own company in an unrelated field.
Depot sucks in service and is worse then ever. Lowes does have better service levels - Reply to this comment
- Do you know why Barbie gets endcap space all of the time at Toys R Us? Because Matel pays TRU for the space. Do you know why KC Masterpiece is one of the best selling bbq sauces on the market? Because the manufacturer pays Wal-Mart, A&P, Safeway, HEB, Kroger, etc. for shelf space.
Home Depot fired these guys because they want their cut and they weren't getting it, it's that simple.

- I prefer Lowes. It is clean, things are easy to find, the employees are generally of higher caliber. When it all comes down to it, retail shopping is all about the experience. If the experience is crappy. I have a Home Depot literally five mintues away from my house and it depresses me, literally, when I go there. Lowes, however, is twenty minutes away, and everything I see there whispers to me "possibility, opportunity" I have someone come up to me every ten minutes too ask me if I need anything in a kind and helpful voice. I am telling you guys that it is not about spreadsheets and bottom line. It is about good people.

- Maybe they should change their slogan from "You can do it, we can help," to:
"You can do it while we help ourselves." - Reply to this comment
- I dont like the limited selection either. It seems like you only get a few brands to pick from--the cheapo, the middle of the road, and the high priced name brand, turbo charged model. But it has always been that way. That is the free market and despite our headaches with it, it has enabled us to live amazingly comfortable lives and in the end drives down the prices of virtually every gizmo the human mind has ever perfected. I love America and I love the free market. It is freedom at its core. So if you feel like you are poor, disadvantaged, left behind, undereducated, discriminated against, high medical bills, etc etc etc. remember one thing. You are a citizen of America, the greatest country on the face of the earth where every man, woman, and child has the opportunity to do something great. And if you think big oil, big drugs, and big box are standing in your way then maybe you should change your attitude.
