The report said the scandal involved foreign vendors from Asia. How hard is it to find out who are the vendors and from which country? I am 90% positive it's China. Any HD insider care to comment?

I get much, much, MUCH better service at my local hardware store. Right on good old-fashioned Main Street. Owned and operated by neighbors. And guess what? You may not beleive it, but the prices are comparable if not often CHEAPER than Home Depot. And it is closer to my home. And I get EXACTLY what I need, and in the correct size/quantity (not a package of twelve of something when I need two of something). It takes me five minutes to walk in, get a friendly clerk to help me find what I need, pay and get out. Not so fast or smooth at any of the big stores. Those of you who have forsaken your local businesses, remember this: It is better to support your neighborhood clerks and your community instead of Wall Street. This IS American. You will be better off for it, trust me. And teach your children to do the same.

All of you who are jumping down Home Depot's (and the president's ?) back are just full of liberal bull ***. You all stand on your high horse and think that the world owes you something.

I guess I've been trolled. LOL!!! The only connection I got on "home depot" and "illegal aliens" was illegal aliens gathering outside HD hoping to find day work.

Ooops...finger was faster than my brain...

Exactly. Bought a Karcher pressure washer at Lowes and I'm on the third factory replacement. Store wouldn't touch it. The original lasted several month but only because I didn't use it much. The second and third lasted about two weeks each. The last one just arrived and I don't expect it to last. Design problem...can't take its own pressure inside.

When the warranty runs out and they stop replacing it I'll got to HD and get a Toro...

You by a lawnmower or power washer, it doesn't work right. They tell you tough luck. I took a dewalt 18 volt drill back to the depot a year after I bought it, they replaced it on the spot, no questions asked. I like home depot.

These purchasing managers did what a lot of companies do, and if the company had been the one taking the money it would be perfectly OK. Do you know why Barbie gets endcap space all of the time at Toys R Us? Because Matel pays TRU for the space. Do you know why KC Masterpiece is one of the best selling bbq sauces on the market? Because the manufacturer pays Wal-Mart, A&P, Safeway, HEB, Kroger, etc. for shelf space.

Home Depot fired these guys because they want their cut and they weren't getting it, it's that simple.
