The 'depraved left'. Hmm... maybe we can move toward a 'morally' obsessed right wing style of government like those preferred by bin Laden, Pakistan. The 'moral right-wing armed bin Laden, the Iranians, and the Iraqi's all during the eight year term of Ronald Raygun - the hero of right wing Repugs.

Maybe we could just name the Pope or Pat Robertson, or one of the many closet-gay Evangelical christian leaders to run our country??

Morality, shmoeality. The only morality these right-wing fascists care about is the morality of $$$$$$$ for the aristocratic oligarchs and the corporatocracy that they run for $$$$$$ that they can leave their kids (who aren't fighting in Iraq) in tax-free trust funds so they won't have to pay for any of this war for corporate $$$$$$.

So in the Libyan Fable it is told That once an Eagle, stricken with a dart, said, when he saw the fashion of the shaft, With our own feathers, not by others hands are we now smitten.

Attention conservatives - your era is over. You had your chance, you failed miserably. You created this mess, you're now relegated as a shameful part of American history.

One_American:

"You can tell he's gotten to the truth"

Tell me your kidding please. If you believe the talking point of this book then you are out of your mind or completely willfully ignorant, or you just love the fact that the right-wing is trying to change the subject for you.

Blaming one group of people in this country for terrorist attacks is plain stupid and CURSORY!

The Republican smoke screens are loosing their effectiveness.
People who vote for Republicans are very angry right now. They feel somewhat responsible for our brothers and sisters dying in Iraq, and they should, but that does not mean that because you voted for a warmonger in the last few elections that you have to continue to do so.

Republicans:
Stop feeling so bad and stop voting for GOP'er just because you keep hearing the word "team" associated with them. This is not Football, your votes can help decide whether our brothers and sisters fight and die for causes that all Americans believe in and support.

Do not let your guilt get in the way of your intelligence!

I think it was George Bush's milktoast response to China's downing of an American spyplane and detention of it's crew that gave Osama the idea that a similar reaction would be given to his attack. Frankly, if the Towers hadn't collapsed that's likley what would have happened. It makes no sense to think the forien agenda is driven by liberal vs conservative thinking. Why should they care?

"Think about it liberals - when the Islamic extremists talk about what they hate about America, it is a description of the things YOU LIKE BEST."

Hey, you know, you are right. The Islamists hate freedom, justice and fairness for everyone - all things that liberals love! When you're right, you're right.

Interesting how Republicans like to criticize Liberals for "blaming America first". This sure looks like blaming more than 50% of America first.

Liberals are not squealing like rats in the light. They are defending themselves against a rediculous charge and we all know what happens in America when you remain silent in the face of b* like that!

Osama caused 9/11 - what his and his cohort's motives are is anyone's guess. Many of his kind of people (thankfully a small portion) are born and taught to be xenophobic = hatred of foreigners. In circumstances like that. S*** IS going to happen.

"the cultural left and its allies in Congress, the media, Hollywood, the nonprofit sector, and the universities are the primary cause of the volcano of anger toward America that is erupting from the Islamic world."

You can tell he's gotten to the truth, because the liberal rats squeal & scurry from the light of it.

Think about it liberals - when the Islamic extremists talk about what they hate about America, it is a description of the things YOU LIKE BEST.

Deal with it.

Not a lot of people know it but Osama Ben Laden was financed and instructed by our CIA under the leadership of Geo Bush Senior. Osama's mission then was to drive Russia out of Afghanistan. Read a book called "Forbidden Truth" by two French Intelligence officers - fascinating. We have a "wild" element in the USA because of a thing we love called freedom. That same freedom allows endless creative business and gives us equality etc. I for one, want to keep it! Can you imagine just hating someone because of their religon? We flat don't think that way and I love it!

Yes, liberals caused 9/11! Finally a rational book about it!

They caused 9/11 by making George Bush and Cheney and the other Nazis frustrated, which caused them to plot and carry out 9/11 ....

If it hadn't been for abortion on demand, Cheney might have remained sane, and not gave the orders for 9/11 ...

Dang those liberals! Cause everything, abortion-loving liberals! Now insaneo Chney will have to nuke LA, and IT WILL BE THE LIBERALS FAULT!

"I am saying that the cultural left and its allies in Congress, the media, Hollywood, the nonprofit sector, and the universities are the primary cause of the volcano of anger toward America that is erupting from the Islamic world."

WOW! The "left" did all that?
Karl Rove, is that you? I see you under Dinesh D'Souza's desk whispering sweet nothings into his ear....;) I can't believe that you have enough talking points and mindless arguments to fill a whole book!! Thanks for keeping me so "well informed", Karl.

With out you Karl, I might be smart, like all those "bleeding heart liberals" who get educated at "universities" and get news from the "media".

So are we to understand that the boomers who arrived "just before" you "sold out"? But not you? What made you different? And about that Social Security you mentioned....You have the left to thank for that. The right has been historically hostile to the New Deal Era reforms and have worked relentlessly to dismantle them. Wouldn't accepting Social Security be selling out?

Did the liberals cause 9/11 did d'souza graduate
from yale as well..

Your president was on vacation most of the time up to that day.... BUSH and his father could have asked the taliban leaders, when they visited the US, IF THEY WERE planning any attacks. The bin ladens are also friends with the bushes. What d'sozzled is saying that the mess in in iraq by definion cannot be the fault of bush, rumsfeld, let the eaglesoar, ashcroft, cheney. and wolfowitz . I agree lets blame. teddy kennedy, martin luther-king, john kerry..nope cant blame john kerry, unlike draft dodger bush, and others of his class,he picked up arms and stood to post...

Does that excuse for a commander in chief, have a clue the damage his bodged and failed policies is doing to the US, especially to the brave young
souls who are, in increasing numbers laying down their short lives. His own military chiefs openly disagree with him.

You know what is most ironic is that Bush goes around god blessing anything that moves...here is a message for you mr bush " God cannot save these valiant CHILDREN but you can" jim

"try experiencing life rather than telling us what you heard or read in some blog"

Visits to 23 countries (including Saudi Arabia to name one pertinent country) and counting. Thanks, but my "life experience" is doing just fine.

Motherjones.

I am part (considered one of the last) of the baby boom generation and a fully qualified expert. All my brothers and sisters are fully in the generation and I was what you'd call an after-thought. I have done quite well, thank you and thank you to my parents. I'm already fully vested in a pension, a company matched 401k that's healthy, and social security that will last through my days. That does not change the fact that those just before me have sold out the generations to follow...and I've seen it first hand. It's really very similar to the way the left sells out the country...and it stinks.

Let's see, when people answer the question "Why do they hate us?" by saying it might have something to do with US foreign policy, folks on the right jump up and down and scream and holler about how "the left" is blaming America for 9/11.

But then a right winger blames America for 9/11, and the right agrees with him.

By the ways, D'Souza has absolutely NO background whatsoever in studying either terrorism or the middle east. His Hoover Inst. biography lists his area of expertise as, "Social and individual responsibility, civil rights and affirmative action, economics and society, higher education." He dishonestly cherry picks statements from Al Qaeda - ignoring the huge number of statements from them (going back to the mid-90's) that explicitly attack US foreign policy - to make a point that he would have gleefully made anyways.

My particular perspective is that the ONLY people to blame for 9/11 are the terrorists themselves. Nothing justifies excusing away the murder of innocents - and people like D'Souza are disgusting.
