Reporter's Notebook: Baghdad Visit Part Of Ahmadinejad's Strategy To Befriend Iraq
- If we want to see excitement in the Middle East, let the Shiites in Iran and Iraq unite and start their long hoped for Jihad against the Sunnis.
We mistakenly think Islam is a monolithic religion, but there are plenty of people in the two factions that are as excited about killing each other as they are about ridding the world of Jews and Christians. - Reply to this comment
- Hey AJMarine1,
Let''s take the example of the Humanitarian crisis inside Gaza due to the cut off of oil, water, power and food by Israel. All the American medias covered an average of no more than 2 minutes per day. On PBS, BBS, Galavision, Telemundo, Univision and others, they had at least 1 hour special programs everyday on that gross violation of human rights and dignity.
Were you aware of that at all before some Palestanian militants destroyed the border with Eygpt? Or, like always, Americans have a short memory about stuff that embarrasses and shames our unconditional support for the State of Israel? - Reply to this comment
- Except, Saudi Arabia would not be on our media unlike on non-American media.

I was looking more for an answer like, "Saddam would be working his butt off trying to caught up with the Iranian program," but you came close; how about a silver star for your efforts instead of a gold one.
Who''s media are you refering too? - Reply to this comment
- Folks,
Politic 101:
Colonialism never works, just ask the Europeans.
Imperialism never works, just ask Latin Americans.
Invasions never works, just ask Afghanistan and Iraq which are expensive and unsubtainables so far.
Democracy must come from within "WE THE PEOPLE" for it to be real and lasting. - Reply to this comment

- Hey AJMarine1,
Easy Kindergarden question: Saddam would be in the exact same position of the leaders of the Saudi Arabia kingdom and ton of other nations currently ruled by dictators. Saddam would be working hard as a dictator doing the usually nasty human right violations stuff. Except, Saudi Arabia would not be on our media unlike on non-American media.

- Looks like a perfect oppotunity to tip out the door and let this new best friend to the people of Iraq have at it. Seems someone always has the answer after we have invested the time. I say good riddance.
