If we want to see excitement in the Middle East, let the Shiites in Iran and Iraq unite and start their long hoped for Jihad against the Sunnis.

We mistakenly think Islam is a monolithic religion, but there are plenty of people in the two factions that are as excited about killing each other as they are about ridding the world of Jews and Christians.

Hey AJMarine1,
Let''s take the example of the Humanitarian crisis inside Gaza due to the cut off of oil, water, power and food by Israel. All the American medias covered an average of no more than 2 minutes per day. On PBS, BBS, Galavision, Telemundo, Univision and others, they had at least 1 hour special programs everyday on that gross violation of human rights and dignity.

Were you aware of that at all before some Palestanian militants destroyed the border with Eygpt? Or, like always, Americans have a short memory about stuff that embarrasses and shames our unconditional support for the State of Israel?

Except, Saudi Arabia would not be on our media unlike on non-American media.

I was looking more for an answer like, "Saddam would be working his butt off trying to caught up with the Iranian program," but you came close; how about a silver star for your efforts instead of a gold one.

Who''s media are you refering too?

Folks,
Politic 101:
Colonialism never works, just ask the Europeans.

Imperialism never works, just ask Latin Americans.

Invasions never works, just ask Afghanistan and Iraq which are expensive and unsubtainables so far.

Democracy must come from within "WE THE PEOPLE" for it to be real and lasting.

In Afghanistan and Iraq, the Taliban and Al Qaeda propaganda is much more effective than the American invaders.

Hey AJMarine1,
Easy Kindergarden question: Saddam would be in the exact same position of the leaders of the Saudi Arabia kingdom and ton of other nations currently ruled by dictators. Saddam would be working hard as a dictator doing the usually nasty human right violations stuff. Except, Saudi Arabia would not be on our media unlike on non-American media.

Do I get a Star on my assignment?

Looks like a perfect oppotunity to tip out the door and let this new best friend to the people of Iraq have at it. Seems someone always has the answer after we have invested the time. I say good riddance.

Answer me this; where would the world be if Saddam was still in power while Iran is working on nuclear energy?

[Ahmadinejad even made his points without the fiery anti-American rhetoric he has carried over from his days as a leader of students who occupied the U.S. embassy in Tehran in 1979. ]

this was originally a rumor ... but i don''t recall this ever being confirmed.

I would like to make a motion. I say that if you are going to bash America on this board, you should at least be American. Anyone opposed to that other than Prinzowhales? We can do this democracy style and vote.

My vote: Yay

Ban Prinzowhales

Don''t be misled about the significance of either Ahmadinejad''s visit or Iran''s influence. We are digging in for the long-haul and Iraq wil be a firm US satellite in the Middle East with American oil companies pumping its oil, KFCs (halal, of course) and WalMarts. Events such as these do not occur without our knowledge or consent.

I suppose we would have to comb the history books very thoroughly to find such an example of an outright gift being given to another country that compares to the gift that the idiot son has given to Iran.

Sickening!

"Iran Winning Iraqi Hearts And Minds"

Somebody in CBS is nuts. Just because Ahmadnejad decided to visit Iraq Katie Couric thinks Iran is winning hearts and minds. What a stupid article. Oh god.
