Anwar Abbas Lafta Becomes The Third CBS News Employee Killed In Iraq War
- These are people blacks should hold up as examples for their children to emulate.

Right, act on behalf of, and just like the racist, elitist, and hypocritical garbage that our heroes sacrificed their lives and freedoms resisting.
I believe that our heroes struggled and sacrificed to give us a chance to become something better than that. - Reply to this comment
- rhs648, both you and oscarez miss the point, it is about illegal war profiteering, oil is just icing on the cake. Do you really think the oil companies care about the price of oil remaining low? If they did, they would settle for even half the billions in profits every month to help keep prices low.
If control of their oil is of such strategic importance, why was it not even mentioned as one of the reasons we declared war in the first place?
And at any rate, it is not worth ordering our children to die for the sake of their profits, when their own children don''t have to go.
The rule of capitalism, if you can''t pay, you can''t play. It is ironic that capitalism''s greatest advocates want to resort to death and destruction to avoid paying. - Reply to this comment

- Its what happens in most cases when you work against your own brethren to cooperate with what is perceived as a hostile enemy, a notable exception being Bush and the Bin Ladens, but we can always hope. Uncle Tom (Colin) and Aunt Condi, I hope you read this...

It is a shame that some blacks are ashamed of blacks who excel in America. These are people blacks should hold up as examples for their children to emulate. - Reply to this comment
- What a shame.

The worse shame is that our country was lied to in order to go there and contribute to it.
Our own president has no problems sending our children to die, but not his own, he just more of the same - Reply to this comment
- This is about Oil not democracy. Remember the Cheney energy task force meetings in 2000, well this was their long term plan. World oil production will peak in 2010 and U.S. companies are looking for long term oil supplies to keep operating. Anwar Abbas Lafta and all the other deaths in Iraq are just Collateral Damage of the Bush administration. The oil producing nations know if push comes to shove the U.S. will invade to keep oil flowing to the U.S.

Such a surprise. America depends on oil. It is in our national interests to make certain that we have a reasonably priced and uninterrupted flow of oil. No one else will protect out interest if we don''t. Every country looks out for itself. - Reply to this comment

- They have been fighting in the Middle-East for centuries. And will continue after we leave. Nothing is said of the 600,000 or so that Saddam Hussein killed before we came. And nothing will be said of the 100,000''s that will die in the future, as every warlord again tries to reclaim his piece of the Iraqi pie. Peace will never come to this region as long as radicals bend the word of their prophet to suit their unjust thinking. I would once love to see one of these clerics blow himself up. They sure can tell their followers how to die, aren''t too good about leading by example. What a shame.

- i wish bush would be tortured like this poor iraqi man was tortured.
i''''d throw garbage at bush as he begged on his knees for his miserable life.

- Hi ''grazinggoat'',
Re: "All bodies wounded by an ''estranged body'' tend to recuperate their integrity after a while. So will the Iraqis. They will bleed to a certain extent, for the repositinning of different factions, but to a much lesser degree than what is going on now, while we''re occupying!"
Nicely put. - Reply to this comment
