- Mr. Osgood,
I listen to you frequently on my car radio. When I hear your signature, I invariably think that saying "O'S--GOOD" would be catchier than your "OSG--OOD." You are a wizard, Sir, and very, very good. Charlie Wilkinson - Reply to this comment
- Dear Mr. Osgood,
My 16 month old grandson, was diagnosed a year ago with Neurofibromatosis.
You may be asking yourself what is that? NF is a congenital disorder that causes the body to create tumors on the person's nerves. His, is due to a gene mutation. The tumors can form on the otic nerve, spinal column, any nerve causing serious disabilities.
Our family is very involved in raising funds for research, and we pray. But, we need awareness and sponsor for the Children Tumor Foundation. We need to get this out to people, so others know what I recently learned about this terrible disorder.
Please consider running a story about this disorder.
You start my week in such a happy way! L enjoy the stories, specially the moment in nature. Above all it is your voice that calms my soul for the rest of my week.
Thanks for your consideration.
A faithful viewer,

- Mr. Osgood You are a true inspiration! Thank You
Please tell Mo Rocca that he is wonderful and his long grey wavy hair looks fantastic !!
Now for your consideration...an interesting topic for CBS Sunday Morning to explore:
FACEBOOK, yes FACEBOOK is indirectly responsible for the current uprising in the Middle East against the USA.
Without FACEBOOK technology, which allows masses of people to gather quickly, these demonstrations and revolts could not have happened in the way they are currently happening.
FACEBOOK has allowed the voices of the common people to shout out the truth or perhaps more lies and propaganda but in a direct tangible way that was not possible in the past.
In essence FACEBOOK has changed and will continue to change, for better or worse, the direction of World history and politics. Now I ask..."where is all this FACEBOOK technology leading us to next?"
Thank you again Frankie Verroca - Reply to this comment
- HEY - SUNDAY MORNING FANS!
HEY - LOUIS ARMSTRONG FANS!
Dear Charles,
As the accomplished musician you are, I'm hoping that my idea will strike a sympathetic chord with you.
I've always been impressed with the opening trumpet fanfare that starts Sunday Morning. The artists that have performed Gottfried Reiche's brilliant work Abblasen, Don Smithers, Doc Severinsen and Wynton Marsalis have set a high standard.
In keeping with that standard, there's another truly American trumpet fanfare, supremely patriotic, that could be substituted for Abblasen on or around your July Fourth episode.
It's Louis Armstrong's celebrated and virtuosic opening cadenza on West End Blues.
It's a spontaneous improvisation, an acclaimed masterpiece, highly appropriate for the July Fourth holiday episodes by the celebrated cultural ambassador for America, Ambassador Satch.
Louis' cadenza is constructed so it's easily played as a piece by itself, apart from the rest of West End Blues and it retains Sunday Morning's artistic integrity.
Ambassador Satch toured the world and enhanced the USA with his joyful brand of musical statesmanship. And, he also proudly claimed to have been born on July the Fourth.
This is a perfect fit--patriotic American content retaining the program's style continuity by one of America's favourite sons, or sun. So I hope that you and the Sunday Morning producers will celebrate the next July Fourth in a totally American way with Louis at the top of the show.

- Hello Mr.Osgood,
Thank you, I enjoyed your segment today on regenerative heart muscle. I think you and your listeners would be very interested in the following technology. The technology below could save hundreds of thousands of lives and save the government roughly $3.2 billion dollars.
12 international studies clearly indicate that Cambridge Heart's Microvolt T-Wave Alternans test identifies individuals at high or low risk of sudden cardiac death. This test does not take long; it is non-invasive, Over 98% accurate, good for 16 months, CMS/Private Insurance covered, FDA approved, and relatively inexpensive (about $200). Unfortunately, for some reason this test is not being provided. As a result, about 850 people die every day from sudden cardiac death 1 every 2 minutes.
In addition, to add insult to injury, 21% of the defibrillators that are implanted are unnecessary, according to a recent JAMA study. Another study, this one conducted by Columbia University a few years ago, determined that 30% of the 170,000 ICD's were uncalled for. Since each defibrillator costs about $65,000, and there were over 50,000 unnecessarily installed, this amounts to a waste of over $3.2 billion. And this does not include the additional cost to monitor these unwarranted implants. Yet Cambridge Heart's Microvolt T-Wave Alternans tests could have prevented this waste, since it can determine who benefits from an ICD.
I hope you become as passionate about this technology as I have and push for it to be the standard and required for ICD candidates, pilots, firemen, policemen, officials.... Please feel free to contact me at bbehnke@vinzantsoftware.com if I can be of any assistance. For exclusive coverage please contact Cambridge Heart as they love to help at 978-654-7600.

- Mr. Osgood - I tune into your show on CBS Sunday Morning for the unique stories that historically have not been politically driven. Mr. Tavis Smiley's commentary on the rich vs. poor was so politically driven and one sided that i find it amazing that it made it the Sunday Morning show. If this is the new direction of the show, let the viewers know and we'll decide if this is what we want to spend our Sunday morning watching. I, for one, will find a new program if I continue to see these political commentaries.

- We needed to comment on the the BBQ Cuban style piece aired on 7/22/12. We have enjoyed watching CBS Sunday Morning for the past twenty-five years. We have enjoyed the many positive, wonderful and interesting pieces through out the years. We were very disappointed and disgusted with this piece. You showed the grilling habits of Cuban style grilling, showing a complete carcass of a baby pig. We are disappointed at the trivial manner of showing this dead being.
The cooking of a whole pig in the make **** box was also disgusting. Showing this type of gluttonous behaviour is irresponsible without showing the other side of the story. Were both pis raised humanely or were their short lives spent in torture in a Factory Farm? The environmental damage that Factory Farms produce, these farms are a chief culprit in the dangerous degradation our planet. The damage to public health from the antibiotics given to animals raised for food. Nearly 10 billion farm animals are slaughtered in this country alone each year, this is not a trivial matter. Please address the other side of the story. - Reply to this comment
- Charles Osgood you are a wonderful man! This morning you only said "the suspect" and "the shooter" you did not repeat this murderers name. I applaud you. The only names that should be mentioned are those of the victims. He should not be given the satisfaction of having his name become a household word. He should only be known as "the killer", "the murderer", "the monster". Thank you Mr. Osgood for your respect of Jonathan Blunk, Alexander Boik, Air Force Staff Sergeant, Jesse Childress, Gordon Cowdon, Jessica Ghawi, Navy Petty Officer, John Larimer, Matthew McQuinn, Micayla Medek, Veronica Moser, Alex Sullivan, Alexander Teves, and Rebecca Wingo. You are my Sunday morning tradition and today you made me love you even more.

- I am 49 years old and I can not remmeber a period in my life that I did not look forward to watching my Sunday Morning. You were always my way of making sence of the week or at least putting things into perspective. This is part of the reason it hurts so much that you would ever even consider promoting something as hidious as hanoi jane! I will miss you but I will never be able to look you in the eye again. Goodbye old friend.
