- Dear Mr. Osgood - It's time to be honest and change the name of your program to CBS ENTERTAINMENT SUNDAY MORNING. I don't understand why you remain associated with this nearly useless program; unless you gave all your money to Bernie Madoff and need to build up your savings for retirement. Dozens of minutes are wasted on garbage people, and then only a few seconds at the end for scenes of true beauty and worth. Beware the ghost of Charles Kuralt. He would be very angry to see what his program has come to.

- I was listening earlier to "Sunday in New York" hosted by fellow Fordham Alum Charles Osgood. The restrospective portion regarding this week's past tragedy in Boston was narrated by a female reporter. She noted near the end that Bostonians were elated that the threat was over and that the cretin (my word) was apprehended "alive". They were? I don't think the Boston public gave a hoot that this piece of garbage was apprehended dead or alive or in pieces. The media just can't help itself.

- Mr. Osgood, Please, I love your shows, I respect you highly as a reporter, commentary, and a gentleman but there is no such thing as Canadian geese, they are all Canada geese.

- Please inform Martha Teichner that John the Baptist was beheaded by Herod before Jesus began his public ministry. The John at the foot of the cross is traditionally John the Evangelist.

- Today, March 14,2013 I listened to your morning broadcast concerning foreclosures. As a realtor and attorney in the Chicago area, I feel that you gave only a half side of the story. The primary reason that foreclosures are dropping is that banks are using the "short sale" to eliminate the bad mortgage before they go into he foreclosure process.
Generally, this is after the Les Pendens has been filed and a foreclosure complaint has been filed. Because the short sale is completed before the foreclosure is finished, the foreclosure is dismissed. Therefore, it appears that a lot less foreclosures are happening. However, distressed sales are still very high, and although down slightly, they comprised over 1/2 of all sales in December 2012 here in the Chicago area.
Due to normal sellers waiting for an improved market, the inventory is very tight. At the peak, in 2006 the amount of home for sale in a give month was about 90,000 in this area. Today is is less than 40,00 and approximately 1/2 are distressed. The result is that pricing is rising which eventually will help relieve the overall problem. In my opinion it will take at least another 5 years or more for real progress to happen. - Reply to this comment
- Hi. Tried this, didnt see it. In CBS' digitizing recorded history for further pepetuation, check with Library of Congress to see if they have digitized the Nation's Forum-America speaks-52 historic recordings made of world leaders-1918-1922. The work of Guy Golterman, founder and director right after he opened the Municipal Theater in
Forest Park in St. Louis. With Columbia Graphophone equipment. Why
Pershing did not want to record from the Battlefields of France.
Why he did and did it 5 times. Why 5 pressings were made. Great story of forsight and achievement. - Reply to this comment
- Dear Mr. Osgood,
I always look forward to the end of the show when you show some beautiful location from somewhere in the country.
This morning was a brief scene from Phillippe Park in Safety Harbor, Florida, just a stone's throw from my home.
You showed a creature basking in the sunshine in a large live oak along the bay (though the shot of the bay and tree were very brief).
You identified the creature as a gecko - you would be wrong!
I would be happy to send you a picture of a gecko, along with a picture of a brown anole lizard (which is what the creature you showed actually was)!
We have little to no geckos in West Central Florida - they would be located in South Florida, where the weather is warmer.
If you ever need a fact-checker, please advise! I'd love to help! - Reply to this comment
- Charles Osgood always say at the end of the program "until then I'll see you on the radio".....this is incorrect. what he should say is "until then you will hear me on the radio"

- Dear Mr. Osgood,
I know, as you would be the first to assert, Sunday Morning is not your sole and exclusive creation. However this seems to be the only way to get a comment to those whose creation it is (and you may include yourself, of course). The comment is: My wife and I so very much enjoyed your New Orleans-themed show this morning. Even though we live in Peabody MA, we dearly love New Orleans and your show had countless images of places we could easily place and fondly remember. We could almost taste the food and could certainly feel the energy and spirit of that most different and most vibrant of American cities. How lucky we are to have such a place to visit and to have such a program that celebrates it. To top it all off you visited Lake Martin just outside Lafayette LA and included the lovely Roseate Spoonbills beginning their nesting. Warm thanks to you and your team for a wonderful Sunday morning. - Reply to this comment
