The real criminal....Al Sharpton
- Tawana Brawley case, a 15-year-old black girl was found smeared with feces, lying in a garbage bag, her clothing torn and burned and with various slurs and epithets written on her body in charcoal. Brawley claimed that she had been assaulted and raped by six white men, some of them police officers, in the town of Wappingers Falls, New York. Alton H. Maddox, C. Vernon Mason joined Sharpton in support of Brawley. A grand jury was convened; after seven months of examining police and medical records, the jury determined that Brawley lied about being assaulted by the police. Sharpton, Maddox and Mason were later successfully sued for statements made in connection with the case, and ordered to pay $345,000 in damages.
%u2022 The Crown Heights Riot: In part driven by Sharpton, a visiting rabbinical student from Australia by the name of Yankel Rosenbaum, 29 years old, was killed during the rioting by a mob shouting "Kill the Jew".
%u2022 In November 2005, Sharpton appeared in advertisements for LoanMax, an automobile title loan company. Sharpton was criticized for appearing in the ads, asLoanMax has been accused of predatory lending charging fees, and for marketing them to primarily poor, urban and African American audiences. The ads featuring Sharpton were run in predominantly African American markets. Just some of his crimes.
plus add the Duke case.

Imus had recetly sitgned a new 5 years contract with CBS. I hope they are forced to pay every cent to him. That would be sweet! He can throw the chump change at Sharpton.

I'd rather watch Imus in the Morning on Fox. At least he would have an audience. We might even see some of the democratic presidential hopefuls appearing on a network they've been ordered to boycott.
Let's see CBS, you don't fire Rather for Rathergate, but you fire a guy who has raised millions for charity as well as help line your pockets? Perhaps you could have Sharpton & Jackson do the evening news, at least then you would have a reason for the ratings tumble.

since they got rid of imus why not go after other stations like 97.1 who talk about the white man's trashy news.they should go after all of them who make comments. regardless of skin color. if it's a racist comment it should be for anyone who makes them.

Did anyone see/hear David Gregory's interview with Mary Matalin on Friday? He took over Imus' MSNBC Show. Anyway, those of you who are upset with his firing would love Mary's astute defense of him.

The dumbing down of America may be very apparent in some areas of the population but it doesn't take a boulder over the head to know the real reason Imus was fired... loss of advertising dollars. It was far easier and cheaper to fire Imus and buy out his contract and in the end CBS comes out smelling like a rose. The "Reverends," need to clean up their own backyard before commenting on their neighbor's. The very comment Imus made originated in the black community via rap and hip hop artists. Maybe Sharpton and thugs need to go after the recording industry who exposed it enough to become common language. That's a little tougher since they don't depend on advertisers to survive. What Imus said was in poor taste, and he apologized. What more was he to do? Do Limbaugh, Steve Harvey, et al, get reamed for their comments? The "reverends" took this opportunity to grandstand and they succeeded, while Imus' freedom of speech was violated. HE SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN FIRED! I'm very disappointed in CBS' actions and will no longer participate as a viewer or listener.

CBSNews.com is just as bad.
How about that really bad internet ad with the walking woman that appears when you get on this board?
Double standards, I guess.
