- I am a republican however I believe Bill Clinton did more for this country in his eight years in office than any president in a long time before and since. We enjoyed incredible economic prosperity during his presidency. Getting involved in the Iraq war was the biggest mistake that George Bush could have made. Could Bill Clinton have done more regarding terrorism when he was president ? Absolutely. But I will say that he was on the right track just not forceful or consistant enough. The best course of action that we as a country should have taken was to 1st button down security and illegal immigration in this country, 2nd to go after terrorists without getting bogged down in a war with Iraq that can't be won. Our military resources are now stretched so thin that we can't do anything about terrorism. Look at Iran. We don't have enough military or money to deal with them. And on top of all that other than a few token resources from other countries in Iraq, we are fighting the global war on terror virtually on our own. We are spending 4 billion dollars per week on the Iraq war, what is that going to do to our economy ? Do the math were in trouble.

- Clinton's demeanor was just too much like his forceful assertion 'I did not hae *** with that woman'.
Methinks he doth protest too much. - Reply to this comment
- I found ABC's response interesting. Diane Sawyer asks Bill O'Reilly for his opinion. He responds by remarking about Monica Lewinsky. Bill evidently feels consensual sexual indiscretion is worse than the type he forces on colleagues.
This follows ABC's selection of Tom Kean as consultant, critic and defender of their admittedly fictionalized hatchet job on Clinton. At the same time, Kean's son is running for the U.S. Senate and being supported by the White House.
This was reminiscent of the Dan Rather-Elder Bush brouhaha. Except that Bush never answered any question, just vented. - Reply to this comment

- What a silly article.
"Was his (Clinton's) angry reaction simply reflexive or was it calculated strategy on the part of one of our era%u2019s greatest political players?" It's obvious Chris Wallace's question was calculated. Why is it acceptable for him to calculate and not for Clinton? Was his reaction angry? I didn't see it. He was coherent and cogent; something we've all missed in a President for many years.
"Flip out". That's a pretty calculated term also. I didn't see Clinton flip out. I saw a man defending hus record and doing a good job of it. "Flip out" is a prejudicial term if I ever saw one, descriptive of someone who is so angry they can't keep their thoughts together. Not so of Mr. Clinton.
"It was part of the promotion for Clinton%u2019s Global Initiative forum but he had to know that his first appearance on the Fox show at least had the potential to be a little tougher than a cake-walk." Clinton has attempted something good with his CGI. Is he supposed to avoid the press because they will ask about bin Laden? Isn't it perfectly acceptable to be prepared for the oh-so obvious attack when it comes? Perhaps Wallace should have stuck to the first 15 minutes of questioning about the CGI rather than dive right into accusations. Perhaps Wallace could have shown some restraint. Your article doesn't even address his inappropriate ploy to boost ratings.
Wallace asked the question, he got an answer. - Reply to this comment
- It's about time someone stood up to defend the truth. Thank you, Bill Clinton. If our Congress had stood up and fought back against this administration, we wouldn't be in the shape we are-record deficits, bogged in a no-win war, hated by more people in the world than ever before. It would be great if we had REAL news programs and didn't have phony news programs that slant the new to their own views.

- NONE of the Network News Companies mention that Bill Clinton Lost it during Interview. His face all red and his finger just a going... Well ABC News on Demand On-Line puts a Slick Willey Spin on the Interview. Did you even look at the Interview? I think not!
Chris Wallace, of FOX, is one of the nicest reporters. How can Clinton go off getting personal with him: "And you've got that little smirk on your face and you think you're so clever." Clinton shows his true colors and it got aired on TV. This would have never happened on CBS or in Hollywood. Clinton's handlers screwed up and Bill Clinton lost it. It wasn't no great political strategy that the DNC is spinning. It is simple, Bill lost it.
Thanks for airing it. I would hope you'd go back and get the rest of the film clippings and air them, so we can see how Bill leaves the Interview Studio.
Finally got Slick Willey!!!! - Reply to this comment
- Round One goes to.....Clinton, by a mile. Clinton would have never gotten us into a stupid no-win war in Iraq either.

- What a wishy washy article. Clinton gave Wallace a lesson in interview control. Wallace was complely disarmed and rendered helpless. Your article is titled, "Round one Go's to ..." Have the guts to make a critical judgement and give Clinton his due.

- I MUST SAY I WAS NOT A CLINTON SUPPORTER UNTIL THIS INCIDENT. I LIKE THE WAY PRESIDENT CLINTON HANDLED THIS PREMEDITATED AMBUSH. CHRIS WALLACE CAME OFF LOOKING LIKE A PUPPET WITH FOX NEWS PULLING ALL THE STRINGS.
IF OTHER DEMS SHOW MORE BACKBONE, AND STOP FLOUNDERING AROUND LIKE A BUNCH OF GUTLESS POLTROONS, THESE MID-TERMS WOULD BECOME VERY INTERESTING. I NEVER BELIEVE IN ONE PARTY RULE.
I REMEMBER WHEN THE RIGHT WING WAS ASKING WHY THEN PRESIDENT CLINTON WAS SO OBSESSED THIS OBL. NOW THEIR SAYING HE SHOULD HAVE DONE MORE. LOOKS LIKE THE RIGHT WING KOOL-AID DRINKERS ARE COMING OUT SIX WEEKS EARLY. - Reply to this comment
