cranialnerves - what ? You trying to drink ALL the koolaid ?

Save some for the others will ya.

GM, at best, will struggle for years to come. The actions of our government may have saved jobs for now, but at what cost, and what has changed that will now make this firm a going concern ?

Sounds like lovegetpeace is getting a little offended by pride.Yes, I'm proud to be american. You say we were nothing before WW2.Wrong, we have been fighting tyranny for 233 years. Remember, we defeated the most powerful army in the world when we had nothing but our spirit.Something you will never know about. What are you a communist? Or maybe a Socialist.Where are you from?

lovegetpeace is a die-hard, hard core communist subversive. Just look at his login name, that is straight out of the CIA handbook for subversive activities.

I've learned from experience that you can not reason with lovegetpeace. He always pulls out some communist propaganda from his little red book, no matter what you say.

If somebody checks his IP address, I have no doubt he's posting from China or some other hotbed of communism.

Like the Obamabot compound.

Our $13 Trillion Federal Debt means each American, over the age of 1 second, owns China and Saudi Arabia $168,000 and counting.

If we include this $168,000.00 debt on each American's back, Americans are more Poor than the Poorests in any 3rd world nations.

Of course quality wasn't complained about, the american toolmaker fixed the issue. You missed the point. Health care doesn't drive the cost of manufacturing as much as paying a guy 25- 30 bucks an hour to do a job any person off the street could do for 15 dollars an hour. Or paying an engineer triple digit figures to design and lead projects that they just outsource anyway. You have no idea how Union workers are overpayed
and underskilled.

Before WWII, America was nobody.

After WWII, America had a World Economic Monopoly. All foreign nations were Ruined and Destroyed. Consequently, all foreign developing nations were Forced to purchase expensive 'Made in USA' at our High Monopoly Price which raised our Standard of living thru the Roof.

Today, America got No World Economic Monopoly. Americans must lower their Standard of Living in order to have an opportunity to Compete with Foreign Developed Nations.

I do not Blame or Credit Capitalism, Democracy, Organized Labor and American's IQ.

Buy Ford!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Support your country- Make American, Buy American. Don't buy Honda or Toyota or Hyundia. Buy Ford since they make the best Trucks on the planet and they didn't take a bailout. Write your congressman and fight for putting a Big Tarriff on companies who want to send our jobs overseas. If not, one day we will be slaves to China. Tell our government to quit borrowing money from the communists and take advice from ford how to keep our country from going bankrupt. Make our Congress and president take an across the board pay cut.

You need to brush up on your history. That is totally incorrect.

By the end of the 1800's, the USA was THE world's industrial superpower. When we started building battleships and airplanes, we became the world's military superpower, too.

By 1918, we were the most powerful and prosperous nation in the world.

Please get your facts straight, and stop your "hate America" propaganda.

Did any one of these Americans ever complained about Quality then?

YES, the quality of American Automobile manufactures for the last 30 years has been embarrassing. However, Quality is not the reason GM and Chrysler have been in financial troubles since the Summer of 2008. The reason GM is in financial troubles since the Summer of 2008 is that in a Recession everyone stops buying cars period especially the big expensive SUVs regardless of the Manufacturer. Sales at Toyota, Nissan, Mazda, Hyundai, etc are also way down - Toyota sales decrease for the past 1 year is worst than GM and Chrysler.

I think that G.M. should have gotten rid of the union. I have witnesses the overpaid flunky line workers. Their wages and benefits are more than what Shoprates are at the Tool & Die shops that build their Tooling and Automation that makes their production even possible. Why should they pay a union to protect your job when it isn't keeping U.S.jobs from being slashed and taken overseas.Everyone has forgotten about the American Tool & Die Maker. We are the beginning of the foodchain and the end.Meaning every product, whether it is Automotive, Medical, Aerospace, begins with a Toolmaker. Cars are stamped and welded from Dies and fixtures made by Toolmakers. Toolmakers build tooling that produces Military Vehicles and Weapons that protect our country. Watches and Pizza pans and almost everything we make comes from Tooling. Toolmakers have been in a recession since 2001 inherited by the signing of Fair Trade under the Clinton Administration. Translates U.S. Jobs going oversees. It starts to trickle down over 8 years, when jobs go oversees then we no longer need Press operaters, inspectors, engineers, etc. So to fix this mess, we need to start making products that is going to fix other issues, like foreign oil dependance. Let's design these products and get our American Toolmakers to Tool our projects, so that when we produce them, we will have the need for production workers, inspectors, electricians, and more Toolmakers to support maintaining of the manufacturing facilities.Where are we to put these facilities? In the buildings where G.M. plants have shut down. Moraine and Dayton Ohio, Detroit Michigan, etc. This is the direction we need to go. If we don't, one day our government will be outsourcing our military projects to countries who don't like us very much like China. Think about it, do you want our military strenghth determined by the poor manufacturing quality of China? When G.M. would
outsource Tooling to China, thinking they would save money, reality hit them. When the tooling would arrive, they would test it and find that cracked parts were made from this tooling, mounting holes were not in the right spot, so assembly would be difficult. So then they get an American Toolmaker to rework and fix the tooling to make good parts, they found out they paid twice the money for the tooling in downtime before the American Toolmaker even touched it.Translation, should of had the tooling built in the U.S. to begin with ,period! China's Tool & Die technology is 60 years behind us. Their ability to hold close tolerance is poor.So you wanna create Jobs in America? You start with the People who make it possible. The American Tool & Die Maker.

Amazing how GM was doing very good before the Summer of 2009 when American stopped purchasing their Big, Tall, Heavy, V8, Roomy and Macho SUVs. I mean, nobody was complaining about GM Quality on their SUVs.

I wonder if your statements applied to the others, what very little exist, with "Made in USA"? Beside Guns and Military hardware, what is 'Made in USA'?
