That's a D*A*M*N fine suggestion you got there, friend!

But, I suspect there are DOZENS of people involved here!

The authorities are making Madoff the "face" of the scam.

They don't want the public to realize just HOW MANY others
were involved and how corrupt Wall Street really IS!

So, Bernie 'goes down' for everyone and to hide the truth!

The only problem I have with this is where are the trails and charges for the others who have done the same?

Its time we string up the other high rollers who have been ripping us off. Madeoff should only be the beginning for these parasites!

When is the law going to start arresting and charging those who have been gouging us with inflating energy prices, you know Enron!

His lawyer isn't silly enough to accept them!
And if he tried, then they REALLY would put him in the worst
prison in the American penal system! Of all things you MUST
do---is pay your legal bills! THIS is the one law that is
actually enforced in America---on a consistent basis!

While it's true closing it on a Friday, might cause less disruption to the public, they CAN close it ANY day of the week! Doing it on Friday just happily coincides with the ability to reduce the number of people who hear about it! YOU'RE BOTH CORRECT!

Excellent point, WayAround!

Don't grieve for this guy too much lady! After all, he did swindle OVER 30,000 people for tens of billions of dollars! I think he earned his trip to the lockup? DON'T YOU?!

Besides, he's a buddy of the authorities, when it dies down, they'll reduce his sentence, and he'll be out in less than 4 years!

Federal time requires about 80% of the sentence be served before parole considerations. He got a life sentence-a death sentence.

What you say is true, but the point is, the authorities DON'T always
follow the rules and/or the law when it comes to how the court functions or in sentencing! That's really what many people on this board are
thinking and/or taking into consideration!

This guy is a BUDDY of theirs! They aren't going to make him stay in
jail the rest of his life! I bet he's out in less than 4 years!

I tend to agree with you! The authorities will let it "die down" a little and reduce his sentence to seven (7) years with time off for good behavior and then let him out after 38 months!
