Wagoner was the worst CEO in recent history. The worst sales got the bigger they made the big yellow bow-ties on Chevys that disfigure both the front and the backs of Chevrolets. The speakers on low-end cars were $2 speakers and the radios junk.

For GM to succeed they need to come up with a new name or call all of their cars and trucks Cadillac. They should follow up BMW's lead and make all car names alpha-numeric and get rid of gaudy symbols of the past.

GM knew years ago where they were headed and did nothing to fix things.
The only help they shoud get is to see we never buy GM cars again.
We need to let our inept president know we are not for bailouts to keep money
in the pockets of the rich.

----------------------------OBAMA'S CAR CZAR WANTS YOUR PENSIONS-------------------

Hedge fund operator Steve Rattner has proposed that the bankruptcy court replace the cash in the GM worker's pension fund with GM stock, as much as 25% of the company, and give the cash to JPMorganChase and CitiGroup. "Just try paying for your dialysis with 50 shares of bankrupt auto stock," Palast says.

Folks this is totally against ERISA laws that were put in place back in 1974 that prohibited hedge funds and corporations from raiding pension funds in case of collapse.

Obama is not the friend of the working people, he has turned his back on them and eloped with Warren Buffet @Goldman Sucks and JP Morgan.

SAD SAD SAD.

I had a hatchback and loved it! Got great and I mean GREAT
gas mileage. Putting this car to rest was a STUPID idea.

The car was fun to drive.

I'd buy another if I could find one in good shape.

Nice try cmixxx - That employee was an engineer who worked 60 hours per week. Are the engineers in the UAW? - I didn't think so - How many hours does the average salaried employee work per week? Just a bit more than 40 I am sure.

For instance OnStar - They can unlock your doors - run engine diagnostics - pinpoint your precise location anywhere on the planet - can tell when you're involved in a collision - can shut your motor down - will automatically summon help for you if need be - all this from 3,000 miles away.

Just wait until they do all that crap when you DON"T want them too. - Pinpoint location - Big Brother is watching - On star is being sold as a help to people - true it may help some, But look at what tptb can use it for - you know darn good and well it will be exploited by our gov't.

Unless jobs return to the USA and most of the population can have a shot at a secure job with a decent, living wage. I don't see how these car companies will be able to sell a sustainable amount of cars to stay afloat. In addition, if our government is going to encourage we all go out and buy more fuel efficient, hybrid vehicles, who is going to be able to afford or maintain vehicles with new, and perhaps unproven technology? There certainly won't be any time or money for R&D or quality assurances.

Get rid of the UAW and maybe you can succeed. Unions have killed every major industry in our country and the unions are killing every state budget. In NYC motorman for the subway system make over an average of $150,000 per year and get 70-80% of final pay for retirement along with free healthcare. Every state employee union has their hand in the state till and we as taxpayers can longer afford this. Time has come to abolish all unions!!!!!

Thank you! to whoever put that post up at 3:15 pm. Saying the majority of Americans don't want small fuel efficient cars. How right you are my friend. Theres no way I or many other Americans out there will ever buy a car or truck you have to plug into a wall. Never! Nothing can supplant that V8 power Nothing. You can't get rid of the V8 engine. The locomotive started the building of America and the V8 finished it. Its as simple as that, and its still on going. The V8 can't and will not be done away with, most Americans will not let that happen. It can't happen.
