Between endorsing this plan, and his reneging on pre-election promises, Mr. Obama continues to increase the likelihood that he will be a one-term president.

On the bright side, Ford is still around. Like Harley Davidson, it will probably concentrate on making retro vehicles like the Mustang, for those longing for the good old days of a bygone era. Americans are big on nostalgia, you know. The past always seems to be better than the present.

Yesterday, the state of Nevada approved same-sex registrations (a story missing from CBS, by the way).

America's industrial and financial sectors are in shambles.

Come on, people, put two and two together!!! The country should shift its economic focus to attracting homosexual travellers. Think of all the possibilities!!! State tourism bureaus could create advertising videos for display in foreign countries, emphasizing the state's services that cater specifically to gay and lesbians visitors.

Please note: I have the only legal concession for issuing souvenir marriage licenses to Ugandan gays. DO NOT infringe,or I will seek redress in the courts.

Come on, America!!! You dreamed up a cap that can hold two beer cans with a straw down to the wearer. You dreamed up the "Clap on, clap off, the clapper". Put the country's stagnant brainpower to work on ways to fleece...errrr...accommodate homosexual travellers from around the globe.

The possibilities are endless. Even the colors of the American flag could be changed to pink, white, and lavendar.

The problem is not the unions but the **** poor upper management that runs GM...The funny thing is that after they file bankruptcy the worker will suffer while management stays in place...Please let this company fail and don't give any tax dollars for it's survival. America cannot afford to keep this dinosaur alive.

Equal pay for equal skills!!!

You are DEAD WRONG! and it's people like you that has destroyed this country.

I don't need McDonald's to make me a hamburger, I can make it myself, therefore McDonalds should pay minimum wage.

However I don't have the materials or the assembly line to manufacture my own motor vehicle, that requires labor that deserves at least a 'middle class' wage that can afford a nice life for the worker and his family in dignity and without dependency on credit cards.

Now take someone who went to college to learn finance, sounds complicated, but what they are doing is working on Wall Street that uses these absolutely worthless financial vehicles, like credit-default swaps, to gamble with peoples pensions and 401(k)s.

Or take someone who went to college to earn an MBA, then runs some company to the ground by lobbying the government to embrace globalization so he can race his workers to the bottom and eventually destroy the very consumer he needs to buy his product.

No my friend, not 'equal pay for equal skills', we need equal pay for the added quality of life to society no matter what the job is.

IF Mr. Obama is endorsing this bankruptcy plan, he better be absolutely sure that it's necessary to cut 21,000 jobs! Because a lot of those people may disagree, may have ideas for how it can be done without the job losses (had they been asked), and most will be voting in the future---if they had not in the past!

Between endorsing this plan, and his reneging on pre-election promises, Mr. Obama continues to increase the likelihood that he will be a one-term president.

How come nobody ever thinks that perhaps union wages and benefits are the way things SHOULD be with inflation and such since most of the rest of us workers seem to do nothing but lose ground?

Of course, what that means is that we can't afford GM vehicles. So, where's GM and the rest doing anything to support other American worker wages so we can actually afford their American made products?

By the way, went to a few GM dealers recently looking for a good deal, with the bankrupcty and 2 BAILOUTS by myself and my fellow taxpayers, and they are NOT interested in moving vehicles off the floor.
