Be careful what you pray for, you might get it.

Actually, everything that I have prayed for, and gotten, has been good. God must like me better, I think.

Does your conscience bother you when you are extra mean to me?
Posted by erasmus111 at 5:42 PM : May 28, 2009

No, because you deserve it.

That whole Proverbs 13:24 thing.

Man has no excuse because he can see the evidence of God in creation.
Posted by Ichabod09 at 5:33 PM : May 28, 2009

Paul didn't say that was because of the perfection of the human body.

I don't believe Paul or anybody in the Bible ever said the human body is perfect and that it proves the existence of God.

The Bible says consistently that the proof of God is a matter of faith alone.

Now, the early Christians thought they had something hot in the Resurrection. They said that surely the Ressurection proves that God exists.

Then people started denying that the Ressurection ever happened.

So the whole thing became a matter of faith again.

When Jesus appeared to the apostle Thomas (the Doubting Thomas), Thomas refused to believe it was Him until he could put his finger into the holes in Jesus' hands.

He put his fingers in the holes, and he believed. As fishy would do.

Then Jesus said "You believed because you saw. How much more blessed are those who will believe without seeing."

Do you have a conscience?

Yes, I do.

Do you? Does your conscience bother you when you are extra mean to me?

The human body is far from perfect. Anybody who's suffered from back problems or any number of other chronic conditions knows that.

It was a little more than ten years ago.

Just before I met my wife.

Which just proves that God does not intervene in human error....

I prayed for a wife, and I got one.

Be careful what you pray for, you might get it.

I thought maybe it was when she stabbed you.

Maybe it wasn't God that was listening that day when you prayed? : )
Maybe you were a VERY, VERY bad boy back then? More so than now?

Ah, the good old intelligent design argument. Creationism in drag.

You have got one wicked sense of analogy. I am actually truly jealous.

Some people have these religious visions or dreams, and I heard that some have thought that it could be cause by people that have clock radios next to their heads or something. I can't remember exactly what it was. Have you heard anything about that?
Posted by erasmus111 at 5:32 PM : May 28, 2009

I'm pretty sure Moses didn't have a clock radio too close to his head....

This is simple stuff, people. If you've ever felt your conscience, you've heard a whisper of your human spirit.

Do you have a conscience? Do you believe conscience, the urge to do right, is an illusion that can be reproduced in a laboratory or induced by LSD?

Do you therefore conclude that conscience doesnt' really exist, so you can kill Grandma after all?

wouldn't rely too heavily on the complexity of any living organism, including humans, to prove divine design.

The human body is far from perfect. Anybody who's suffered from back problems or any number of other chronic conditions knows that.

The proof of God is purely by faith.

But isn't that how Paul in the first part of Romans explains why no man is without excuse before God?. Man has no excuse because he can see the evidence of God in creation.

No, that's what happened to Indiana Jones in his latest film.

GOTCHA!!!!

What you describe is exactly what they reproduce in the lab. Some people have visions along with it, some do not. They can also reproduce the same thing with low doses of LSD.

Duh, gimmie a break here. I'm talking complex design. If ya got design, ya got a designer.

Second law of thermodynamics or Murphy's law for non-scientists. Things left to themselves don't get more complex, they tend to go to crap.

Just don't stare into the eyes of the crystal skull.

It will plant its thoughts in your mind.

Really, fishy? You need LSD to grow a conscience? :-)

Science can' t explain consciousness, much less conscience.

Conscience is the welcome mat to the human spirit.

Science is far, far away from understanding what you can learn right now from the Bible.

True, but I am not sure why you need to invoke god to explain. That only leaves you trying to explain god, which is impossible. Explaining one fantastic thing with something even more fantastic is not much of an explanation :)

The Bible is theonly evidence needed. By the way, Romans 1 says that all people know that God is true. They just choose to ignore it. If there was ever a time that there was nothing, there would still be nothing. There is an uncaused cause, and His Name is Jehovah, the Triune God.
