Aww, shucks. Twas nothin' .... :)

The fact is that without many voices, we could not be heard.

So for every voice raised in praise and defense of American freedom and humanity, we must indeed be thankful.

Eternally thankful.

"This was the object of the Declaration of Independence. Not to find out new principles, or new arguments, never before thought of, not merely to say things which had never been said before; but to place before mankind the common sense of the subject, in terms so plain and firm as to command their assent, and to justify ourselves in the independent stand we are compelled to take. Neither aiming at originality of principle or sentiment, nor yet copied from any particular and previous writing, it was intended to be an expression of the American mind, and to give to that expression the proper tone and spirit called for by the occasion."

I agree with some postings:
However most consumers never even go to the GM dealership to see what cars they offer before selecting a AUDI or BMW. The last 4 people in my office did research on the internet purchased Mazda, Mazda, Toyota, AUDI.

Everyone has their best interest in mine and not thinking about the American Jobs.

BTW: DO A DMV search MOST immigrants purchase older American cars! From a data spec.

The blame rests simply on the inept management of GM and Chrysler. Toyota, Honda, Mercedes Benz and other foreign car manufacturers can and do make cars profitably in United States plants, providing thousands of jobs for Americans. GM and Chrysler, with bloated union contractual obligations, outdated plants producing cars with questionable appeal, and lower overall quality can't compete. Obama is right! If the American taxpayer is going to lend billions of dollars to keep these dinosaurs afloat, I, as a taxpayer, would expect that the government review the viability of these manufacturers and our investment in them.

As for the comments that the government seems to know best- well certainly the inept management of Chrysler and GM didn't have a clue.

Don't dare blame Bush or OBAMA!

It's more than likely the Cititzens of USA fault. Look around most people don't purchase American products. My Ford SUV was perfect for hauling my ATV's.

Package: This GM car will only cost you 400 per month plus fuel EVERY THING else is covered. (family budget)

Why don't GM do something that matters like offering a 36K bumper to bumper warranty. Anything that breaks get repaired for free. AUDI and BMW changes Brakes, lights, oil and etc for up to 50K miles everything is covered including services. GM can contract the extra work out to other business with the stimulas money.

IrishWench, you are one heck of a consistent, intelligent, and passionate fighter for American freedom.

George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, and Benjamin Franklin are looking down upon you now and they are well pleased. Very well pleased.

GM, buh bye. PS, I like my full size trucks with STANDARD transmissions. I know it's silly but you could have atleast made it a special order option. Not all Americans are too lazy to shift for more fuel efficiency.

Also, you took too long to bring back the Camaro. If a 2nd sequel of a movie comes out with the new Camaro in it and the Camaro still hasn't reached the market, it took too long.

GM, why did the Congressionally Chartered New Car Sales for GI's overseas stop selling GM vehicles a few years ago? www.encs.com Since it's a Government owned car company now isn't it odd GI's overseas can't buy them on their military base like Ford and Chryslers?

GM, find a redneck with a mullet and give him a sawzall to hack the HHR into a El Camino by chopping off the back. They will sell better. It will get better fuel mileage with more metal and plastic hacked off, will be cheaper to make.

Hire a Lawyer/Lobbyist to come to Guam and enforce DOT regulations forcing Asian trucks that shouldn't be on the road or on American soil into salvage yards forcing Defence Contractors to buy new GM commercial trucks. Otherwise we'll see a boom in Asian construction/commercial vehicles getting into Guam for the $10+ Billion build up and your commercial vehicle sales will lose out.

I agree. Most all of us here are intelligent, and even though we vehemently disagree on many things, it might be helpful to offer up some of our own ideas that what we think could work.

Here's mine ...

The SearingTruth American Recovery Plan

1. Investigate the treason and subversion of our Constitution during the Bush, and now Obama, administrations and try all Republicans and Democrats involved in Americas most shameful period in history. Any found guilty must be justly punished according to the rule of law.

2. Get as much of the trillions of dollars we gave away to billionaires back, as soon as possible.

3. Let all the failed corporations in America go bankrupt, so that viable companies can move in and clean up the mess.

4. Immediately implement universal health care for the people, and an emergency plan to shelter and feed us so we can weather the depression.

5. Begin a ten year economic disengagement program from China. Besides being an inhumane nation that regularly commits atrocities upon all those within its domain, they are our enemies and are simply using the trillions of dollars we are giving them to build an army to destroy us.

6. Implement fair trade, because "free trade" doesn't exist, and has helped to bring us to the brink of destruction. This means making trade agreements that benefit America, not other nations.

7. Forbid the outsourcing of American jobs, which is another key reason America is failing. And from now on any company that wants to move to another country may do so, and then never do business in America again without extremely high tariffs on their products or services.

8. Heavily regulate and monitor our financial system so criminal billionaire thugs can never do this again.

THAT proves that the former CEO fired by OBAMA was right and Obama was wrong as always.

Oh fellow citizen nancy_naive, that was truly and absolutely hilarious.

I think poor aziridine has been up all night insulting people. At least that's where I left him late last night.

Its too bad though, honestly. All that passion, and he has no way to let it out.

But again, thanks for the laugh. It certainly helps break up our normal bleak dissertations.

Ahhh.... Obama.

Breaker of unions.

Servant of Wall Street.

And imprisoner and torturer of the anonymous throughout the globe. Just like Bush.

It seems the left, and many non-partisans, have made another very tragic mistake.

And the American people must pay dearly.

Again.

Politics did not make these companies run themselves into the ground. They did it on their own and they should sink on their own.

Finally getting the picture. In order to dump the over priced useless employees, you have to go under and take them with you. When you emerge, the trash will float away and you can start fresh. We have to do the same thing with school teachers.

I don't buy the bit about bankruptcy eroding consumer confidence. It will mean the end of the union control and the absurd wages paid out to gorillas with attitude. Pay them $12 an hour and GM may become competitive again.

Citigroup and AIG have had years to change their ways and did not. They are being kept in business and just push paper like worthless CDOs and CDSs. They do not actually DO anything much for their money. It is not like they turn iron ore into finished autos. Value added should be preserved. You can find a generic manager for a bank or insurance company, but very few people can run car companies.

Unfortunately, GM has failed to recognize their paradigm. They are NO LONGER the BIG of the so-called Big 3. Their business model is stuck somewhere between WWII and Woodstock.....back in the 'ol days before VW, Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Suzuki, Hyandai, KIA and a half dozen other brands. Then, they created Saturn as a competitor since they had trashed their own reputations with losers. Can anyone say Vega or Corvair. GM hasn't been the leader....they followed Ford's lead on cars like Taurus, Explorer, etc. Notice Ford isn't looking for hand outs 'cause they've postured for the paradigm change though late.

True, then in 2006 the American electorate chose this new "trickle up poverty" under the dems with the results incog-nito mentioned. Since Pelosi announced the "new sheriff in town" its been pretty much an unending screwup. Under Obama it's worse yet.

As far as a mandate, nancy........i doubt you've had a "man date" in 20 yrs.
