What a joke of a headline!
"Obama lays out plan for Detroit's survival".
Give me a break. If he cared about Detroit and the rank and file automaker, he wouldn't demand high gas taxes or defend the big unions who have made GM noncompetitive.
More media coddling of Obama of CBS.

Do you Obama voters really like Obama's call for higher gas taxes which affect everybody?
Do you Obama voters really like Obama's support for the big unions which have helped saddle GM with contracts that make them noncompetitive?

No, we need the choice, dependent upon our lifestyles and needs.

and we do have those choice's. Ford, GM and chrysler have different vehicles for different needs. Like minivans, trucks cars SUV's and what not. Except that our cars suck! They do man and its sad. I would never buy an american car.

Fat chance! America wants quality not mediocrity. Unfortunatley that is our american made cars compared to nissan, toyota or honda. People prefer those brands because they make cars and trucks with better gas mileage. We dont need trucks that can tow a 30,000 lbs aircraft. We need vehicles that can take us from fresno to san diego in one tank!

Quick fix for U.S. Auto Makers:
1) Quit making cars and trucks, most Americans cannot afford to purchase.
2)Start producing a car for the people. (No electric door locks, windows, and Air Conditioning.) Less weight on a car will raise the MPG. ( Sadly remember what the Germans did at the start of WWII)
3) Americans must stop buying autos from overseas, Start buying only American Made.
