William Shakespeare wrote: Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely.
I believe that the investors fueled his corruption making him forget about and feel above the laws that were supposed to govern him..... Do they ( his family ) think that they should be able to continue to benefit from his illegal gains? Drug dealers lose all assets when it is proven that their proceeds where gained from their illegal activity and in this case the money is the drug of choice..... Get them and prosecute them all

This country is so hypotcritical. The Justice System sends a ConMan to jail, but the President B.O. creates another ponzi scheme. Awake up, America. This Stimulus Plan is nothing more than Debt that is being given to the same Corporate Crooks that can share the same jail house bed as Madoff.

After another 2 to 3 Trillion in bailout, the government will be forced to turn to Socialism to maintain this globe economy. This is so elementary. Some of you Pro B.O. should bone-up on your history.

Justice will not be served until the family divests themselves of their assets and repays to the best extent they can to all who have been swindled.

OXYMORON: ?Wall Street Talent? ? ?Wall Street Bankers?
***I have given this great consideration and I find the terms ?Wall Street Talent? and ?Wall Street Bankers? to be one of the most true examples of the definition of the term oxymoron. Paying these guys bonus money is like paying the players on the worst baseball team in Pro Ball more than five times what you pay the guys ?that deliver? a World Series. Does any body believe this makes sense or could ever happen? Well it has ? Wall Street Bonuses are an affront to every decent person with an ounce of common sense and for me they are criminals. These people that engineered derivatives, the toxic securities of the housing industry, the tech bubble bust, kings of the con and marketing and the list goes on an on.
***Common Sense does not prevail in the ?never, never land of greed and/or stupidity call Wall Street? Stupid may not be true ? criminal comes to mind ? they stole so much money from citizens since 1984 and they did it all legally ? but steal they did ? right under the nose of every sitting senator and congressman during the time period of 1980 thru 2008. No ? I would not ever accuse a US President, Senator or Congressman serving these past 28 years as being a thief ? they are just too stupid and naïve and a bit greedy to be a good thief. We have elected the most self centered, obtuse, vain, arrogant, unqualified bunch of Bozo?s (my apology to Bozo the Clown who actually brought happiness to people) our nation has ever had.
***Calling them Leaders is akin to saying that the Manager of the last place team that failed to make the playoffs deserved a hugh bonus. Do not expect the Wall Street People to ever take responsibility for any of the wreckage and ruin they have caused? You need a conscience for that. As for government ? they just handed these ?Wizards of Disaster? and self dealing ONE Trillion dollars ? please do not look to Obama or anyone else in government to solve this problem ? they are more clueless than the average citizen. We are in this by ourselves citizen ? to the very end.

That this guy was allowed house arrest in his penthouse gives the appearance that in the US wealth means priviledge instead of rule by law for everyone. We can only be a strong Nation if the law is blindly applied. Anything else is corruption. I don't believe Madoff would be so cooperative if he didn't believe his family was taken care of by funds stashed here and there. Where did the money invested go? Our prosecuters need to relentlessly go after EVERYONE involved in this theft of lives. If Madoff's wife, sons, brother and any employees benefitted from this tragic crime, then their fortunes need to be forfit and ugly jail be their homes. For the sake of our country we need to root-out and fight corruption and corporate greed.

This typical criminal activity is the fault of our government for not controlling big corporations. In fact, as in other fascist countries like America, the corporations run the government.

The whole purpose of the SEC is to prevent things like this.

Madoff was handed to them on a silver platter in 2000.

They dd nothing.

We no longer have a functioning government.

The only function performed by the government is keeping itself in power over us.

Our government is acting with more than neglect - it is acting with malice toward the people.

That's us.

why then do you think the SEC enforcement division-- after given a blueprint of this illegal scheme--did not prosecute?

why isn't anyone upset with the government's ponzi scheme...social security
Posted by mjvwsr at 1:16 PM : Mar 12, 2009

We've been upset with it ever since it started.

And now that the baby boomers will be retiring and banrupting it, we have more reason to be upset. The government will have to borrow money to bailout Social Security and Medicaid.

But we're borrowing all tlhat money now, so there won't be anything left to borrow when Social Security and Medicaid need it.

It's anybody's guess what will happen then.

Will the AARP declare civil war on the rest of the country?
