NYC Judge Imposes More Restrictions On Disgraced Investor But Rejects Bid By Prosecutors To Send Him To Jail
- EXCELLENT POSTINGS nes718 . You are a truly brave man. Keep it up if you can. Are you in danger of your life?...I mean that seriously! I can suspect that from living with an ex-Israeli soldier. Thanks for giving the truth.
The truth is dangerous folks. You got it here...and NOT from the mainstream media. Thanks goodness for some real people who post here. - Reply to this comment
- What mainstream media outlets are not telling you is that Madoff is linked to the infamous Israeli money laundering bank IDB (Israel Discount Bank).
IDB was fined 12 million dollars by NY State banking authorities for failure to implement mechanisms to prevent money laundering.
Madoff was business partner with long standing IDB of NY directory Sy Syms through Yeshiva University where Madoff was a treasurer. Madoff''''s right hand man was Jacob Ezra Merkin who bought the bank from Israeli authorities three years ago.
Basically those folks who think he could not have possibly have carried out this fraud by himself are correct. As you can see, Madoff is up to his eyeballs in a corrupt bank, it''''s directors who are linked directly to Ehud Olmert and the Israeli government.
Madoff is the designated fall guy and those who he is protecting are folks in very high places. A real investigation would include IDB and folks connected to it. Unfortunately, the same forces that are preventing Madoff from going to jail are covering up the substantial links and are directing the SEC to conduct a cover up. I think Madoff may even try a "Sam Israel" in the near future, stay tuned.
Great job at reporting this nes718. That should be heard by all...but it won''t, will it??!! - Reply to this comment
- What the fraud is really about, and why he''s not getting any jail time, is that Madoff closest friends "invested" their money with him for safe keeping. Yeah, the later investors got "Ponzi''d" but the big philanthropic (tax free) trusts would have a hard time explaining why they took their money out of the US and out of dollar denominated assets just before the collapse of the dollar and the US economy.
Enter Uncle Bernie! He "Ponzied" the money away through IDB of NY and moved it to Swiss bank accounts originally with USB. But USB was feeling heat from the IRS so Bernie subsequently moved the loot to Israel directly. His closest friends and investors know where and how to access their money but will now play victim and try and fleece another few billion from the US taxpayer. Not a bad deal at all, huh???
This is why Bernie pleaded "guilty" and says there is no money so the scope of the investigation would be minimal. In his own words, "It''s all just one big lie." - Reply to this comment

- Why are you libs so mad about him being out on jail? After all, this is the exact same type of NYC ACLU-type judge that lets murderers and rapists out on bail every day, you know, the kind you LOVE.

Oh come on. The judge believes that this man is not a flight risk, is not an obstruction risk, and is a most-definite ''grease-the-palm'' risk.

He already looks exactly like Marie Antoinette did on her way to the guillotine (an engraving). If he has a ''''Ken Lay'''' heart attack it''''ll probably be a blessing on him.
Umm....Ken Lay is alive and well. You know that.- Reply to this comment
- Why is it that if you are materially rich, you don''t have to go to jail if you commit crimes? If some poor kid from the ghetto had scammed people out of billions of dollars his b u t t would be in jail. The American Judicial system is a big joke.

- This is just so wrong. The judge that ruled on this should be disbarred. This is exactly why crime is running rampant in the US. People who are supposedly rich and live in penthouses can do anything and not have the same repercussions as a person who lives a less affluent lifestyle. So much for justice being blind.

- ubrew12: "He already looks exactly like Marie Antoinette did on her way to the guillotine (an engraving)." I was seeing more of a resemblance to Bob Dylan- just before he converted to Christianity. He can afford to fake his own death- but he''ll still have hell to look forward to.

- You can commit any crime you wish in America if you are rich, just like in any other country.
So much for our "specialness".

- I hate Madoff as much as anyone.
But this is the part I begin to hate.

Sometimes I think these industrious, workaholic, captains of industry are the ultimate victims of their financial hubris. Certainly, the face in the photo above seems to say something of that.
Let them use their financial accumen to find a way to at least partially repay their victims, leaving them destitute except for a story to sell. That''s probably the best we can do. Their fate is with a broken ''free market'' dream. That''s already hurt them more than we ever could.
Thats already hurt ALL of us, and we ALL bought it. - Reply to this comment
- O get a life people. Our laws for bail are just about 200 years old, they apply to all evenly. In the past our laws were ignored in the south, and most of the country when it came to color, but today the law concerning bail is being better served. If, they would have denied his bail that would have been corruption not the other way around.

You''re badly misinformed. Who else but a Wealthy, Wall Street Connected Criminal would be allowed to use STOLEN MONIES to use not only for bail and to bribe the Judge, but for his defense team as well??? Don''t give up your day job for that Law Career just yet.....LOL - Reply to this comment

- "Even for the most serious offense, more than half of all defendants are released on bail conditions, including 51 percent for violent offenses, 57 percent for property offenses and 73 percent for fraud."
The judge''s rationalization does not take into account that ethnicity ("white") and social status (rich) accounts for almost all those who are thus treated.
It is clear that the judge''s bias towards "aristocracy" has tainted his sense of justice, Madoff is a danger not only to his community, but to all who invested with him, and probably has enough of the stolen money hidden away that he can easily obtain a different passport, and at the first opportunity, flee to anywhere in the world, and live a royal life. - Reply to this comment
