The first thing that needs to happen is the Republicans need to stop telling their states that "the economy is fine here" and admit that certain government programs need more help to handle the increase in applications. The second would be giving those programs the funding to hire those extra workers. Instead they run commercials telling everyone how stable the economy still is, that the job loses are not happening here and the housing market is not in danger here.

Clinton engages sanctions on Iraq and gripes about them, BUSH makes up a war to scurry some money for his boys, sacrifices American soldier''s lives, and with their blood on his hands...Hillgirl still wants to blame Clinton. Seriously, what is the point? You represent everything that is neo-con: ignorance of facts, ignorance of cause, and a juvenile finger pointing..."nuh uh- they did it!"

I see we are all on the same page with this one. This is the kind of person who says the walls are made of cheese, and there is nothing anyone can do to prove to them it isn''t.

I find it ironic that we have accomplished what Bin Laden tried to do by hitting the world trade centers on 9/11. He wanted to crush our economy and hit us where it hurts. He failed but we have succeeded in doing it all by ourselves. If he isn''t dead yet he soon will be from laughing so hard. His bonus: not just the USA but the whole world is changing.

Don''t forget the other rightwing trick as counting parttime and under employed. If a person goes from making $20 an hour to $7. Remember bush bragging how great America was because people could work 3 jobs.

4.5 million collecting unemployment benefits. Most benefits run out in 13-26 weeks. How many people are REALLY unemployed?

I was asking myself the same question, how many people are REALLY unemployed when many people are denied unemployment or their benefits have expired. I''m assuming that the monthly goverment numbers are based on the numbers of weekly filings or are there other factors? I''m quite sure the numbers are much higher than what the government would like us to believe regardless!

I just heard Thom Hartman on Air America that it is at least 10% higher than what is reported. So probably getting close to 20%.

Don''t waste your time on the trolls. They no longer have an iota of influence in America except for coming on boards and trying to get sane people to respond to them.

It isn''''''''t gonna happen. Bush isn''''''''t the 7-11 assistant manager down the street.

And his past record suggests that he is unqualified to hold that position as well. Perhaps you could find him a job mowing a lawn or walking a dog, with adequate supervision he may just pull it off.

LOL!! He has been taking abuse like yours for 8 years and hasn''t cracked once. He is Presidential and you are judgemental. LOL!! You must be a Christian.

Please help others in need if you''''re fortunate to have a job. There are so many people that need help right now and it''''s only going to get worse. Small things can help out a lot. Donate small cheap items to the local food pantry or cook a meal for a friend/relative/neighbor.

Honorable idea for anyone who still has faith in humanity. I still have a job, but am trying to stash so that I can figure out how many months I''ll have when I do lose my job. If the job market is as horrifying as everyone claims, I should have about 30 months before I become homeless. I guess that means plenty of other people less fortunate than me will starve to death before I do.

A crime against peace, in international law, refers to "planning, preparation, initiation, or waging of wars of aggression, or a war in violation of international treaties, agreements or assurances, or participation in a common plan or conspiracy for the accomplishment of any of the foregoing" [1]. This definition of crimes against peace was first incorporated into the Nuremberg Principles and later included in the United Nations Charter.

So whose money and work is going to support all these unemployed people? Sounds like the government will be taxing me to death. I don''''t expect any improvement under Obama, in fact, the tax rates will undoubtedly increase to support Obama''''s looney ideas of "change" and various types of social and economic experimentation, i.e. throwing the tax money into a bottomless pit.

Well there you have it. While you all bought in to the "savings" of the cheap Chinese junk you were purchasing, and watched as your fellow Americans were tossed from their jobs, did you really believe there was such a thing as a free lunch? It seems we will all pay those higher prices one way or another.
