Now they are giving the elite aircraft carrier loads of cash, we''ve printed over $1.2trillion since September, never mind bail out money. Ever wonder where the money went that was in these hidden speculator markets. What''s the increase in the military watching us "protecting us from domestic terrorism" going to turn into? Ever read about the John Warner Act which overides the Posse Comitatus Act (reinstated in 2008)? Here''s a little quote from that bill.

"The executive branch shall construe sections 914 and 1512 of the Act, which purport to make consultation with specified Members of Congress a precondition to the execution of the law, as calling for but not mandating such consultation, as is consistent with the Constitution''s provisions concerning the separate powers of the Congress to legislate and the President to execute the laws."

Basically, he can declaire martial law and give no reason. Didn''t read about this in the media, huh? Imagine that.

Right they voted for it just like most recons did but they were told there was going to be governmental oversight.

They should have known better they were also told there were WMD''''''''s in Iraq. Look how that turned out.

How do you know Bush is lying? His mouth is moving.

Thats what Im saying!!! They should have known better than to trust him to do the right thing. Everyone is culpable in this fiasco. But they did learn their lesson and they''re not gonna let it happen again hence the strict rules on the big 3 bail.

Although now Bush took that outa congress''s hands and made it into an unregulated mess.

Yes, 1 man can be responsible for the mess we are in right now...but he was backed by the rest of the republiCONS in congress for 6 years with a bullit proof majority.

GW Bush - has no concept of money. Born with silver spoon in mouth, replaced by his own feet...

I say prosecute every bank president and his croonies that ran every bank that failed for robbery...

Take the Billions, and put them into the bailout.

Only someone who is detached from reality could possibly think that the former Senator from Illinois had enough influence to tank the ecomomy.

George Bush has been stupid, arrogant, dishonest, reckless and incompetent. You can try to blame this mess on others, but only another republican would be gullible enough to believe it.

Gramm, who engineered most of the leglisation that caused the meltdown and the resulting bailout, was McCains economic advisor not Obama''''''''''''''''s. Just the facts Rowdy.

Posted by dinkydog1 at 12:36 PM : Dec 22, 2008

Your statement about Gramm is incorrect.

.............................

Wasn''t Gramm responsable for repeal of the Glass Stegal Act and banking modernization legislation that allowed the meltdown to happen? If not, then ask yourself, before, was it possible to get a no doc, 100% jumbo mortgauge with no down payment and bad credit in the 80''s. Of course not, it would have been illegal. Thanks Gramm!!!
