So in other words if a child is murdered in the US by a group of idiots just worry about that child and forget about the 200,000 plus that have been murdered by thugs in places like Darfur/China? Seems like a statement that would be going against the will of "Providence" or morality whichever you prefer to call a conscience. - Reply to this comment

radiob21,
Dont get involved with the insults. There are a few on this site who come here for entertainment. They are 20 somethings who mostly live overseas and find it fun to insult, not think. Their posts indicate a serious lack of knowledge and even less understanding so I mostly ignore them. You will figure out who they are from time to time. - Reply to this comment
- They all are worthless and have been for years both sides of the aisle, who where and what year did we start outsourcing all of our economy? Who was president and who ran congress? This has been going on for at least 33 years.

It started when we told the electronics companies to stop using harsh chemicals and then told the steel steel companies to stop letting smoke into the air. Im all for a clean environment but our congressmen said: "I dont care how you do it, but you will find a way." And they did. I was there. At first it actually cost more to manufacture those things overseas but after a while, they got smarter and now they are better than us at it. But, the air around Pittsburg and Gary is sure a lot cleaner. Soon, the air around detroit is gonna be clean too. Sad, we could have done both if congress had worked with business. - Reply to this comment
- Granted we are not perfect and have faltered from time to time but we have stood up for more nations than have stood up for us either economically or militarily when needed.

- Those who are just making insults are not contributing to the discussion. This is serious not just for America but for all of the world. The world has been dependent upon the wealth of America buying its goods and its services along with the protection and freedom we have stood for that senseless name calling is doing no one any good. Granted we are not perfect and have faltered from time to time but we have stood up for more nations than have stood up for us either economically or militarily when needed.

- I see just what I expected. Pelosi is worthless and I don tknow why California sends her to Washington except they dont want her there either. It isnt just Bush, she is going to be a problem for Obama too. Only I think he will put her in her place.
Im just wondeering why she gets to keep her private jet. The one we taxpayers pay for.

especially the banking companies.
.... There was no way that they were that incompentent to not know that the loans they were making were bad to begin with.
...This is becoming more and more of a New World Order than a depression like we had in the 30''''ties and we all need to wake up and demand accountablity on both sides of the aisle.

I agree with most of your post. However, I don tthink the banks are alone in the blame for the mortgage meltdown. If you look back, they were required by congress to make a certain percentage of sub-prime (bad?) loans. The banks figured a way to "insure" those loans through a loan insurance company (AIG) so they would muck up the banks value. THEN they got greedy and decided if it worked for 10% of the loans why not try it on ALL the loans. So, congressional demands, FnnieMac complicity, bank greed. There aint to clean skirts in this dance. - Reply to this comment
- Does this really surprise you, Pelosi showing no spine, this has been what she and her fellow Democrats have done for over two years. They have no spine for governing and have splayed their legs like whipped pups everytime our lame-duck President Bush has wanted something. This is what they do. What do you expect from the party of failed lawyers.

- Reality wake up here folks, name calling does not solve problems. I am not really for bailing out any companies especially when they have had the technology to convert from gas to natural/propane for decades and the majority of parts are made everywhere else but N. America (Canada included) however in this bleak economy that is intertwined between banking, auto, services, etc. we need to pull together with specific demands placed upon all of these companies especially the banking companies. I never heard a single bank CEO say that he would work for a $1 a year to get their deal or give up some of their assets in order to preserve the banking system. There was no way that they were that incompentent to not know that the loans they were making were bad to begin with. And to our neighbors north of the USA that beleive there will not be a impact upon them then they need to realize how many cars are actually assembled and made there first. This is becoming more and more of a New World Order than a depression like we had in the 30''ties and we all need to wake up and demand accountablity on both sides of the aisle.

Ill bet they wouldnt lay off very many when it actually came to it. They would have declared bankruptcy, renegotiated all their contracts, and maybe fixed themselves. There would be some unemployment but not more than the rest of the country is dealing with. - Reply to this comment

- Polls showed 67% of Americans against bailing out the Auto Industry, I guess Polls only matter in elections! If we see any Congressman driving a flashy new car we know the deal, wink wink! :)

did you know that Nancy Pelosi already has a private jet provided by the taxpayers? So, while we were beating the Detroit CEO''s about their jets, they were thinking: "but we only did what Nancy did last month when she came to Detroit". - Reply to this comment
- Yeah - just like Wall street knows there''''s no reason for them to institute proper controls over the assinine bets you make and loans you hand ot when you know the government will keep bailing you out when you fvck up

I wont send insults because this post actually has some value for discussion.
Nope, didnt like the Wall Street bailouts either. But I did recognize that if we let those banks fail we would further trash our reputation with the rest of the world. I thought it was important to keep the banks going because foreign countries and foreign envestors use them too. We all need banks to live cicilized lives. We dont need cars, and if we do, there are other car companies. - Reply to this comment

- 15 billion loan you''''ll never see paid back. It''''s too late, automakers ignored the cry for smaller more fuel efficient cars, let them fail.
Unfortunately, once they get their 15 bazillion which will probably become 30 bazillion soon after, they will be right back to their dirty dealings, private jets, high CEO pay, etc. etc. etc.

the biggest mistake is that we, the taxpayers, keep acting like our congressmen or president can do something about this. They cant. Its either free market where they have no say, or its government managed where they have no competence. I just wonder why we keep thinking the congress or the president can change any of this. - Reply to this comment
