Americans (Democrats) are so enamored of equality that they would rather be equal in slavery than unequal in freedom.
Alexis de Tocqueville

Democrats motto, add equal in poverty and starvation like Zimbabwe.

Sounds like the Republican mantra.

If you''''re going to use Tocqueville to extoll the virtues of conservatism, try these tidbits on for size.

Tyranny of the majority
The power exercised by the majority over thought
Effects of the majority''''s tyranny onamerican national character

Kinda sums up the first six years of the disaster.

the Dems were partly responsible for the economic crisis. The Community Reinvestment Act of the 70s passed by a Democratic Congress forced banks to lend to unqualified applicants so the banks would be allowed to expand. In the 90s under Clinton and with the support ofhis Sec Treasury Robert Reich, the mortgages were securitiezed which allowed good and bad mortgages to be bundled and sold. After Enron, the FASB forced banks to value these mortgages based on current value, "Mark to Mark''. In 2005, Barney Frank, D- Ma, said Fannie was a great company while McCain and others were trying to regulate it while Frank was taking campaign contributions from Fannie. Dodd D-Ct as head of the Senate Banking for the last 2 years did nothing to prevent the subprime crisis from exploding. Murtha D-Pa, knew the banks were going to implode 6 months before they did and did nothing. Pelosi and Reid have been in charge for 2 years and did nothing. The Dems originated the problem and watched while it all unfolded and did nothing. They cannot escape their responsibility for this crisis.

We have so much available to us between free energy such as wind and solar to technologies such as hybrid and elec plug in cars. Jeff Wilson just published a new book called THE MANHATTAN PROJECT OF 2009.Interesting read. All of our elected officials need to read up on the subject of renewable energy and the impact of our dependence foreign oil on our society and economy.

There isn''t a real oil shortage in the US just a manufactured one caused by one party stopping drilling.
We have to change our whole economy to go to these alternative energy options, none of them are feasable cost wise when compared to oil, this is going to cost trillions more. Where do you think all of these subsidies are going to come from to pay for all of this, the tax payer again.
The last two months we have spent more money, when it is adjusted for inflation 3.6 trillion dollars, than it cost to fight all of WW2(ABC NEWS) and none of it has gone or is going to go into the economy. You can''t buy jobs with tax payer money it doesn''t work.

"No less significant is the intellectual outlook of the rank and file in the communist and fascist movements in Germany before 1933. The relative ease with which a young communist could be converted into a Nazi or vice verse was well known, best of all to the propagandists of the two parties. The communists and Nazis clashed more frequently with each other than with other parties simply because they competed for the same type of mind and reserved for each other the hatred of the heretic. Their practice showed how closely they are related. To both, the real enemy, the man with whom they had nothing in common, was the liberal of the old type. While to the Nazi the communist and to the communist the Nazi, and to both the socialist, are potential recruits made of the right timber, they both know that there can be no compromise between them and those who really believe in individual freedom."

The high cost of fuel this past year have all but destroyed our economy.Families have been stretched to the max between filling up the family car to get back and forth to work, higher utility bills and the effect of high fuel on every consumer product we need to purchase. Between all those there is little left over to save or invest. Most have had to dip into savings to get by as of late. Jobs and homes are being lost at an alarming rate.Just as gas prices have come down a tad OPEC is planning to cut production again. We have so much available to us between free energy such as wind and solar to technologies such as hybrid and elec plug in cars. Jeff Wilson just published a new book called THE MANHATTAN PROJECT OF 2009.Interesting read. Hmmmm

"Nobody saw more clearly than the great political thinker de Tocqueville that democracy stands in an irreconcilable conflict with socialism: "Democracy extends the sphere of individual freedom," he said. "Democracy attaches all possible value to each man," he said in 1848, "while socialism makes each man a mere agent, a mere number. Democracy and socialism have nothing in common but one word: equality. But notice the difference: while democracy seeks equality in liberty, socialism seeks equality in restraint and servitude."

Causes of the recession are:

1) Extremely high oil prices for a year, due to a fake shortage. Lack of drilling for 20 years in the USA
2) Sub Prime Mortgage meltdowm, WHO changed the rules for credit deadbeats to lie and cheat their way into gettin a mortgage.
3) We are a credit driven economy, no money see 4)
4) Tax payer Bailout money to banks , banks not making loans just sitting on the funds. CITI Group not a bank until 3 weeks ago has been given one half trillion dollars. No accountability
5) GM,Ford, Chrysler being forced to building battery cars, because of the global warming freaks. Obama is now number one global warming freak.
6) Congress gives Paulsen unlimited power to give trillions of tax payer money out to who? how much? and when? it''s secret. That POC Paulsen should be waterboarded, along with Baranke, Pelosi, Reid and Bush.

All these issues are Democrat Party issues.

Huge Job Losses Could Be Signal That Worst Is Over

Good article- the recovery could be starting next year. Much too early for any Democratic proposals to take affect. But when things are looking better at the end of 2009, they''ll be taking all the credit.

Mr. Obama, President Elect:

"Things are going to get worst" is the only truth that can be said for the oncoming months ahead. The illusion that the Democratic Party can actually avoid a Great Depression II is an absolutely deception.

If you are going to be honest with the American then do not mix truth with lies. It makes you appear to be worst than liar - a deceiver.

Personally, I don''t think the SEC, FDIC, or the Paulson can save the U.S. Economy. You have managed to buy alittle time (perhaps for the officials and corporate leaders to shore-up their legal resources - avoid jail).

Want to solve the problem??? Simple, seek justice. If I were to win the lotto, and someone asked me about my charible contribution: I would say, "I would contribute funds to establishing justice in this country. Government corruption and injustice is the root in giving power to greed in any economic system. "Without Law and Order, there is no freedom" - George Washington.

Everyone, including George W Bush, is a national criminal. GW Bush has made the all "American Citizens" a slave to debt! The entire U.S. Government and its law enforcement are enemies of the U.S. Constitution. Without justice, there can be no prosperity.

Just like his daddy''''s recession/near DEPRESSION in 1991-92.
Posted by walt1944 at 07:35 PM : Dec 05, 2008

Who do you think you''re fooling? I mean, seriously?

Let''s see - if someone was 20 in 1991, then they''re 37 now.

So, anyone YOUNGER than 37 might be fooled by your nonsense.

But those of us who LIVED THROUGH IT as adults, we remember it as THE MILDEST RECESSION IN HISTORY.

Most of us barely felt it. If it affected you at all, you must have been teetering on the edge of ruin already. Which was VERY tough to do, after eight years of Reagan prosperity.

All of us "nut cases" that kept screaming that all these so called free trade agreements and tax breaks to outsource American manufacturing jobs would bring this country down. It is so easy to do away with service related jobs. No machines to move, no buildings to close. Just see your way to the door.

True, they get cheap labor to produce cheap products to sell at high prices. Who in the end will buy them when no one has a job ? Who will really care.

Thats what we have come to. Thats where we are.
