- [www.BarackObama.com - oh wait - his team already changed all of this information because they knew it was a LIE. You people remind me of Jack and the BeanStalk - you were sold a bag of beans and now are waiting for a tree or something to grow. LMAO]

you people? what people are you referring to?
how convenient that the foundation for your claims were in the hands of those that you claim made the claims.
do you assume that everyone else is as stupid as you are? - Reply to this comment

- torva, people like you who continue to just blame the republicans are absolutely clueless! Your blind indifferance and purposeful denail will turn into a dose of reality in the next four years. It will be interesting to read the displaced blame and rationalizing as time goes by and the reality sinks in that the Dems who now have unprecedented control after this last election fair no better than the parties have previously.LOL!

- The Republicans stood side by side with the Auto Execs in opposing better fuel mileage for decades...so why are the GOPers whining that the Dems aren''''t moving fast enough?
Further the most of the GOP opposes the bailout in the first place? Again why are the GOPers and their groupies whining about congress not immediately passing a bailout?
Giving the opposition of both the Whitehouse and congressional republicans, the Democrats and the Auto industry are just going to have to wait until January when the GOP obstructionist are whittled down and effectively shut out of the process.
The GOP has only itself and its corporate buddies to blame for the economic mess!

The dems do not have enough balls to go this alone when they control the House.
Wishful thinking. They need cover and a scape goat in case things go badly and of course with Detroit they will.
Who in their right mind would buy a Big 3 car now? Even if they get bailed out. No way sales will drop further like a stone.
They are already blaming President Bush for the failure of the Bank Bailout so far to which they wrote the legislation and approved.
If they approve an Auto bailout and it does not work and just (1) file Bankruptcy anyway after taking billions of our mortgaged future along with it, who will the dems blame then? - Reply to this comment

Looky here Sparky; what is wong with taking about 3% of what was given to the banks, who''''s only aim in life is to make the rich richer, to the car industry that hold''''s up around 10% of the country''''s work force and actually makes something useful?

First of the Government OCC is not giving money to every bank. They are reviewing and deciding who has the best chance for survival if they get the money. If the same tact was used with the Big 3, none of them would get the money because they cannot survive with their current UAW costs and contracts.
OK Sparky, not the same thing. - Reply to this comment
- rightbehind, you people talk like there hasn''t been a Dem in congress or the whitehouse for the last thirty years! Try and see how reality works for you, who knows you might even like it.

- Love the picture of Reid and Polosi, they look pretty despondent, they have come to the realization that they will actually have to do something that isn''t just blaming the other side. All they have done for eight years is critisize and blame. There were enough kool-aide drinkers to believe that crapp and now the ball is finally in their court, they are now truly responsible for what happens or what doesn''t happen. The next four we will get to see what these critisizing, finger pointing Dems can do themselves.

- This all started with the Auto Companies and the price of gas going above $4.50.
Now lets look at what then Dems really want: This was published in 2000
Al Gore is the man who claims, in his book, "Earth in the Balance," that the greatest threat to mankind is posed by the internal combustion engine.
He notes "In fact, almost every poll shows Americans decisively rejecting higher taxes on fossil fuels, even though that proposal is one of the logical first steps in changing our policies in a manner consistent with a more responsible approach to the environment." He''s always been for higher fuel taxes as a means of discouraging your use of gasoline. That''s a fact.
Sixty percent of federal land is now off limits to oil drilling. Offshore the situation is even more restrictive. Forty-three million acres of federal land is off limits even to road building, which means you can''t even think about drilling.
On top of all that, it is the Clinton-Gore Environmental Protection Agency that has imposed tough new blended-gas regulations that added 25 cents to the cost of a gallon of gas.
What''s Gore''s latest response? As gasoline prices and frustration at the pumps soar, he unveils a Carteresque multibillion-dollar national energy strategy that includes a proposal for weaning America off its reliance on foreign oil with tax incentives for building and buying energy-saving products. - Reply to this comment

- A 25 billion bailout of the auto industry will work? The cars they are making now are never going to sell, people are still going to get layed off. The corporate execs are still going to rake in millions and the companies will have their hands out again in 3 months- AND they are STILL going to go through bankrupcy- and take our 25 billion with them!

- To all those that want to point finger at Pres. Bush and ignore Pres-elect Obama as the cause of this mess.. just remember, THEN Sen. Obama was part of the problem too, but now Pres-elect Obama will be, hopefully, part of the solution.

[Posted by BailThisOut at 04:12 PM : Nov 20, 2008]
