They are Diesel powered vehicles, which have a much lower carbon impact on the environment. Allow them (give them a two-year exemption on some of the more restrictive EPA and DOT requirements) and force them to start selling cars like the Ford Ka and Fiesta and the GM/Vauxhall Agila, both 60+ MPG cars by raising the CAFE to 40 MPG.
