- The WHOLE meltdown is Barney Frank''''s fault?
The republicans that repealed the regulations that kept the banks in check, get a free pass, and Barney Frank carries the entire burden?

No, the WHOLE blame lies with the President who SIGNED the 1999 banking deregulation bill instead of vetoing it and letting Congress override his veto. LOL!
Moron. Who said anything about WHOLE blame??? Congress voted FOR the bailout, so Bush can''t get the WHOLE blame either.
No, there''s PLENTY OF BLAME for everyone. Do you want some?
How about YOU - did YOU vote for any incumbents on Election Day? Did you VOTE AT ALL??? - Reply to this comment

If you voted either for Obama or McCain then you DID vote for the bailout. And if you voted for your incumbent senator or representative, then you PROBABLY voted for the bailout. - Reply to this comment
- When is the government going to bail us out? The CEO''s of these companies should get long prison times. I dealt with road contractors for years and they would cheat the government on ever road project and make millions extra. Even though the road may fall apart in a year or less. How did they get away with it, they paid thousands of dollars to the elected state governor, senators and representatives to get elected. In payback, these elected officals would let them cheat.

- I thought it was kind of funny a few days ago when Obama said that if congress did not pass a middle class stimulus package during the lame duck session that it would be the first thing that HE would do when he took office. I noticed that he softened that the next day. Hopefully one of his aids explained to him the way the federal givernment works. Congress passes legislation. The president''s choices are either to get on TV and complain about it... or not... and to either sign the legislation or veto it.

It''s time to revise that - Congress can fool THE MAJORITY OF VOTERS EVERY TIME, it appears. - Reply to this comment
- It''''s time to say "NO MORE!" to AIG and any other company that can''''t or won''''t try to rescue itself!

And HOW do you propose to do that when Barney "Meltdown" Frank got re-elected by 69% of the voters in his state.
With morons like this in the voting booths, I see very little that we can do. The voters have sent Congress another blank check and the green light to keep doing what they have been doing - BUSINESS AS USUAL. - Reply to this comment

Yes, however; Bush with Sec''y Paulson designed the bailout. Bush signed bailout. Bush and Paulson both run the bailout. But you are right they were not in Congress and they did not vote for the bailout.
What fate should await a leader (MBA president) that pays 150% ofor a company and only controls 80% of it? - Reply to this comment

We taxpayers are having a hard time "rescuing" ourselves without having to give money away to the highly-paid, highly-perked executives at AIG, and all with the BLESSING of the Great Emperor Bush II and his neocon Fascist Nazi Republican court!
Congress should step in, hide the purse, and tell Bush if he wants to give AIG money, let him use HIS OWN fortune to do it!!!!
SIG HEIL, WHAT MEGA-CORPORATION CAN I BAIL OUT NEXT???, BUSH!!!! - Reply to this comment
- txgrouch2007: Our continued involvement in Iraq and this failed bailout, can be laid at the feet of our spineless Congress, how people could vote any Democrat into Congress after their dismal performance thus far is mind boggling. All you had to do was look at their approval rating and they made Bush look like a genius. You can fool some of people......you know the rest.
