''The new package reduces the interest rate AIG will pay...''

If the government really wants to look at predatory interest rates they should look at what the credit card companies are doing to the American public. Criminal!!

So AIG goes under so what. It might make other companies take a relook at how they do things. They sure want to spend that 700 billion before Jan 20 2009 when it could be reversed.

If you voted to re-elect ANY incumbent member of Congress from your state, then that person is YOU.

How in the heck can you blame bush for the fraudulent, criminal activity of a private company? Posted by kevnkar at 12:48 PM : Nov 10, 2008

How can you blame Bush for the fraudulent, criminal activity of CONGRESS?

Well, you can sorta blame Bush for Paulson - they were born in THE SAME YEAR. But that is the same year as Bill Clinton and Joseph Hazelwood. So...

These people have absolutly NO ethics! I an a few other billion individuals would like to see the people responsible for this nightmare held criminally liable and monies they received in bonus and/or exit packages put back into the cofers. What "working vacation" are we (an our grandchildren 20 years from now) going to be paying for? The American public wants the money back where it should be.

Sorry Bubbala, I cut the dems no slack. My mantra is "vote out ALL incumbents. Did you vote out yours regardless of party. I did!

So did I. Unfortunately Barney Frank was re-elected by 69% of his Massachusetts morons.

We were WAY outvoted. America has doomed itself.

"the government on Monday provided a new $150 billion financial-rescue package to troubled insurance giant American International Group, including $40 billion for partial ownership. "

Once again, our government is now a partial owner of a business that IT REGULATES!!!

Doesn''t ANYBODY CARE about what a CONFLICT OF INTEREST this creates???

Will our government start using "return on its investment" to justify MORE FAVORABLE REGULATION FOR THESE BUSINESSES?????

And will we see a stunned looking Pelosi (when does she NOT look stunned?) and smug Barney Frank just rubber stamping it because "it''s better than the alternative..."

THEY ARE ARRANGING THE ALTERNATIVE to corral the future into one dominated by big businesses controlling our government instead of the other way around.

bm6005: No it wasn''t the fear of Bush''s veto power, they just are spineless. Pelosi and crew accomplished not one thing they said they were going to do. As was evident in their approval rating which was twice as low as Bush''s. Do not try and make excuses for a group who chose not to do their jobs.

Pelosi and the congress of jerks are either controlled by or are Jews that are pillaging the American public.

Rahm Emanuel is a Mossad chief that Obama brought in as chief of staff. Had I known he was going to do that I would not have voted for him.

Remember who voted for the bailout and throw them out of office ASAP. Ever heard of a recall election? Many states allow for this. Nobody is going to rescue America for you, either you do it or you continue to be a slave to Israel.

We the PEOPLE as a whole never agreed to this bail out. That is OUR money. As everyone stated, AIG''s CEO''s are living high on the hog........and us normal people that have to give up our money to them cannot even afford to feed our kids so WHAT THE HELL????

txgrouch: Too many think that the Prsident has this all encompassing power and don''t realize that Congress is the key. They thought by electing Obama that all would be good, not realizing the problem was with Pelosi and crew. Now they have just compounded the issue with putting more of the same party in, who shied away from governing in the first place, who rubberstamped a Bush agenda they claimed to hate. It''s that you can lead a horse to water syndrome.

When is Pelosi and that bunch of spineless jerks we call Congress, going to step up and start serving the people interest. This is a joke and they are all laughing at us, the people.
Posted by Edward1975 at 11:47 AM : Nov 10, 2008

When will the spineless voters THROW THEM OUT??

That''s WHY Congress is laughing at us. WE DON''T DO ANYTHING TO THEM, and they stay in office again and again.
