GM Loses $2.5B, Ford Loses $129M In 3Q; Both Automakers Announce Major Job Cuts, Cash Burns
- The E.R. they took me to sued me for the bill and won.
The judge told me I had to sue the insurance co. for my money, Guess what they don''''t exist.
Emergency rooms are not free.

That depends on what you have. If all you own is a home and one car and you do not make a lot of extra money then you are pretty much judgment proof. - Reply to this comment
- I am going to sell my Japanese car and buy a GM/Ford/Chrysler car because I only see advantages on doing so:
1 - They use more gas: better for the economy since we spend more on gas.
2 - They break more often: better for the economy since we go to the mechanic more often.
3 - They make them bigger: better for the economy since this way more healthcare jobs are created on treating people from accidents from those beautiful tall vehicles.
4 - Selling my Japanese car will allow other people not as fortunate to have a means of transportation without spending as much money.
I''m rushing to post an add to proceed with the sale, all for the economy''s sake.
Other considerations:
1 - Keep your cable tv programming, make sure you order as many pay-per-view programs to generate revenue.
2 - Keep ordering the biggest pizza, and make sure you don''t finish it so that the hungry squirrels can eat it after they get into the trash can.
3 - Make sure that you have as many minutes possible in your cell-phone plan so that you can always keep in touch with others to fix the economy, while driving, eating a hamburguer and either shaving your beard or putting some makeup on. - Reply to this comment

Emergency Rooms are FREE. So visit one and ask those waiting there.
One reason Hospitals are closing in record numbers is because of this fact. - Reply to this comment

My 1st Car was a Pontiac and lasted 145,000 miles.
My 2nd Car was a Datsun/Nissan and lasted 285,000 miles.
My current 3rd car is Toyota and so far it got 185,000 miles on it.
Foreign cars are much easier on gas mileage.
I will never buy American Cars. - Reply to this comment

It much easier than driving south to Mexico. In America, we can go straight into the Emergency Room of any Hospital for FREE treatment if you have no Health Insurance.
This is the costly by-product of our Free Market (PROFIT) based Health Care system. They prices themselves out every year and that in itself prices them out even more the next year because the Payer Pool is Smaller and the ER Cost is Larger. - Reply to this comment
- So.... if God forbid one of your children gets cancer.... you are packing up the car and heading to Mexico??

- My wife is head of security for a Toyota satellite plant that makes the wiper motors for the Toyota car and they cover 100% of their workers health care..no out of pocket for their employees.

Good for you! Honda & Toyota treat their employees well--if they didn''t they wouldn''t be able to compete. The real advantage both those companies have over the Big 3 is that since they''ve only been in North America since the 80''s, they don''t have the legacy costs the Big 3 have to drag around. Think about the pension burden GM has with literally millions of people collecting benefits who don''t even work there anymore. - Reply to this comment
- How many times must the auto industry be baled out by the taxpayer before they get it right?
Baling out companies with taxpayer funds is getting out of hand anymore. CEO''s walk away with millions each and every time after they ran the companies into the ground.
It''s time we, as taxpayers, say the taxpayer no longer afford this. I understand it''s about jobs, but some fool runing the company should be held responsible from here on out. Enough is enough. - Reply to this comment

- Folks,
In Summary, Americans have a VERY EXPENSIVE AND Extremely INEFFECTIVE AND Totally INEFFICIENT Free Market (PROFIT) Private based Health Care System because IT LACKS A HEART. The Profit (wallet) is more important than the Heart. - Reply to this comment

That has more to do with Big Macs than the quality of health care. Face it, Americans don''t exactly live healthy lifestyles, as a whole. - Reply to this comment

- As a lifelong conservative I lay the blame for GM and Ford''s losses squarely on Obama. In fact he is already responsible for all of America''s ills. Just wait until he''s actually in office.

Americans also go South the border for cheap Health Care. For example, Braces in American average $3500.00 but in Tiguana Mexico, they average $800.00 per head.
Per Capita, America health care Costs is more than Twice the 2nd place country which is Sweden in Europe.
