- why can''t they actually help the economy by giving the originally suggested one thousand dollars to each american family? just like the other stimulus checks, it would be spent & there by creating a boost in public cash flow with out helping the "money people" put it in their pockets.

All the money is going to go back to the rich execs who lost it in the first place. Then they''re gonna want more. God bless the USA.- Reply to this comment
- It''s pretty clear that Henry Paulson and Neel Kashkari should be removed from their duties immediately. And they would be if we didn''t have an idiot in the White House and a sizable number of morons in Congress. The 700 billion appears destined to disappear into the pockets of the greedy bas*#$ds that cause the mess to begin with, and Paulsen will be back advising ''W-ya'' that the money''s all gone and we need more to make things work. A whole bunch of very credible experts have since the beginning advised it would be better to let it all crash than go the route they have, and I''m starting to believe that now. This is the most insane event in history, and people are actually buying all this cr*p they''re being fed, unbelievable. What will it take to wise everyone up?

- "As the crisis worsens, the government''s reaction keeps changing. Lawmakers in both parties are starting to gripe that the bailout is turning out to be far different from what the Bush administration sold to Congress."
Yeah, what a surprise. The Bush administration has lied again. The country and the world cannot afford another four years of Bush-McCain policies. We''re going broke from all this Republican mismanagement and fiscal recklessness. - Reply to this comment
- This money will disappear just like the billions in Iraq and crooks like paulson will have no idea where it went but they''ll need more.

It would appear that some of you McCain supporters were given one single issue each to continuously post about.
I have noticed you have been posting the same frivolous comments about Obama%u2019s birth certificate, on every article on this site, for some time now.
I was born and raised in the state of Missouri in a time when MOST people were not born in hospitals. As a matter of fact I was told that my father delivered me and no doctor was even involved.
There was no official recording of my birth. I did not even have a birth Certificate, until one was required before I could be enrolled in the public school where I grew up.
My mother acquired a birth certificate for me then by simply presenting a notarized statement of my birth data.
Things are different now of course. Babies are even issued a social security numbers.
It is my understanding that Obama has a birth certificate, duly registered in the state of Hawaii.
Rest assured, if Obama%u2019s birth certificate were a legitimate issue, The McCain Campaign would have been running ads about it in every state. - Reply to this comment
- Take it back, we knew Bush was lying when he was spewing it.
Let us cancel the "bailout" and let the corrupt b*stards fold. - Reply to this comment
- After all the excitement about needing $700 Billion dollars to prevent a financial meltdown, now that he has it, the Great Emperor Bush II and his crony in the Treasury Department, Henry Paulson, don''t know what to do with it!!!!!!!!!
First, we were told the money was to bailout Wall Street, buy up bad "paper" and sell them to anyone stupid enough to buy them!
Then we were told the money is going to go to banks to give them cash to operate and free up credit. Some money has already gone to BIG banks (Bank of America got $25 Billion it didn''t need!) and the discovery has been made that instead of freeing up credit, banks will just buy up other banks, and give their BIG SHOTS big raises and bonuses, and too bad for the general public and the economy!
Now, we are told that the insurance companies and the automakers want a slive of the pie too!
How about throwing maybe 1/4 of the money OUR WAY, so we can pay off debt, hang onto our homes, afford some groceries and have a decent night out?????
SIG HEIL, I''M TOO BUSY "STINGING" THE CONGRESS AND THE PUBLIC!!!, BUSH!!!
sig heil, I''D LIKE SOME OF THAT SO I CAN AFFORD 10 HOUSES INSTEAD OF 7!!!, McBush!!!
sig heil, IF I GOT SOME OF THAT, I WOULD SHOP TILL I DROPPED!!!, Palin!!! - Reply to this comment
