Those who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it.
Those who DO learn from history can CAUSE US to repeat the parts THEY WANT.
The public school system has done a WONDERFUL job of keeping anyone from learning about history. Only private school students learn history anymore.

Umm, I think you meant "instant gratification."
The other thing is what teenagers do... you know... "the time has come" and all.
BTW, do you wash and re-use plastic sandwich bags? That''s what the REALLY thrifty homesteaders do. I read about it in "Countryside" magazine.
I think this would be a good time to subscribe again. They''ve been warning about this day for about, oh TWENTY OR FIFTY YEARS... - Reply to this comment

- This brings to mind the great movie "Key Largo", where the old man says "Oh Lord, send a great wave. Take us, if you must, but TAKE HIM" referring to the evil gangster.
Here, the evil gangster is the Ronald Reagan and his disciples of doom, bankrupting America for the wealthy few.
The wave is the economic disaster overtaking us.
Take us if you must, Oh Lord, but TAKE THE REAGANITES AND THE BUSHITES AND THE MCLONES TO HELL FOREVER!! - Reply to this comment

Rope. I''m ready with rope. I''m good to go.
All I gotta do is pick up some more road flares. Yah, that''s it. Road flares. That will do nicely, I think.
And pitchforks. All I need to do is find someplace that has some pitchforks left... - Reply to this comment

Torches? Torches are easy. They''re called ROAD FLARES. You can get them anywhere.
Pitchforks, they''re harder to find. - Reply to this comment
- Good evening AMERICANS,
that is what we are.believe it or not, I, had the perfect bailout plan. Problem, No one, not even CBS would take the time to listen for 5 minutes. The REAL issues are AMERICANS can no longer pay their bills. The people needed help. If bills got paid, money would flow and banks will not fall. This is a breif, very breif, concept of my plan. The plan is actually 5 pages long. In detail. Well, who cares, no one would respond to my request to be heard. I contacted Obama camp, Mc Cain camp, white house, *** channey, CBS, NBC, ABC, CNN and ms money. Who wants to hear from a middle class American who has spent their 50 years of life doing budgets and manageing profitable businesses. We are just stupid stoogies to politicians. Thanks. We are America and no one will listen to us. SAD, SAD day. - Reply to this comment
