When you have seven homes, that''s a lot of garages to fill. After the fuss over the number of residences owned by the two presidential nominees, NEWSWEEK looked into the candidates'' cars. And based on public vehicle-registration records, here''s the score. John and Cindy McCain: 13. Barack and Michelle Obama: one.

(The McCain campaign did not respond to multiple requests for comment.)

Obama''s lone vehicle also is a green machine, a 2008 Ford Escape hybrid. He bought it last year to replace the family''s Chrysler 300C, a Hemi-powered sedan. Obama ditched the 300C, once 50 Cent''s preferred ride, after taking heat for driving a guzzler while haranguing Detroit about building more fuel-efficient cars.

McCain''s personal ride, a 2004 Cadillac CTS, is no gas sipper, but it should make Detroit happy because it''s made by General Motors. "I''ve bought American literally all my life and I''m proud," McCain said in the interview with Detroit''s WXYZ-TV. But the rest of his fleet is not all-American. There''s a 2005 Volkswagen convertible in the along .... The McCains also own three 2000 NEV Gem electric vehicles, which are bubble-shaped cars popular in retirement communities.

Only the Cadillac is registered in the candidate''s name. Cindy McCain''s name is on 11 vehicles, though not the one she actually drives. That car, a Lexus, is registered to her family''s beer-distributor business and is outfitted with personalized plates that read MS BUD.

One other thing if this bail out happens let it be for those who have less than $1 million. That would be a fair way to help the American people since most Americans have less than $500,000 net worth

I think it is time to let the rich stew in the brew it has made we have already given them millions if not billions in tax breaks I say let them lose half or all. Let them feel what it''s like to be living paycheck to paycheck

The Amercian worker takes it in the butt yet again. We will never get better jobs in this country as long as the greedy republicans exist. They will cut our throats to maintain their profits and excess

We will never get health care coverage for workers in this country if the scum bag wealthy / wallstreet neocon machine continues to exist.

The workers will never be able to retire and will be forced to work McJobs until their 80 as long as Wallstreet greed exists, and who is going to stop them ? Not the republicans, they''ll just keep handing over money and then put up walls to keep us out.

America has become a joke of a country, problem is the joke is not funny.

repubicans are a joke, and I have not one positve thought or nice thing to say to one. I dispise republicans as much as AL Quaida, there all worthy of the death sentence... every single one of you !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

700 billion to bail out the folks that got us into this mess in the first place. What about the folks that have lost their homes, or are in the process of losing their homes? I know all these folks have been paying taxes, so why can''t the government help them to save their homes? I bet it would not have cost 700 Billion.

The Republicans have completely trashed this country - this is an accelerated Soviet meltdown.
The "rescue plan" is nothing but a Republican gun to the American people''s head - give us your money or we''ll let the economy fail and the blame will be all on the Democrats.

I have some doubts about having the "Bush administration" being in charge of fixing the economy, especially since they were not smart enough to keep it from ruination in the first place.

Whoever is posing as "Bush''s brain" now is overmatched.

This bailout is a bad idea! It should be obvious that this is a way to make tax payers (the poor and middle class) pay up to bail out the rich who got us all into this mess in the first place through risky loans, etc. THEY should suffer the consequences of their own actions!

Here''s the rub: Without a bailout, our economy (based on "buy with money you don''t have") would clog, slowing drastically. It would be disaster for financiers and uncomfortable for the rest of us as we have to to adjust to more frugal living. However, with a bailout we make the financiers happy and right on track making their fortunes but we (and our kids) pay for it for a long time. Because that puts us in worse financial standing, we have to tighten our belts AND even though the debt based economy is perpetuated, we probably will not qualify for any loans anymore.

With or without this rescue of the rich, we still have to adjust to less wealth and won''t be getting as many loans. The difference is that in one case we pay for the mistakes of the wealthy and in the other we don''t.
