Comments on: Bush Seeks Broader Power For Bank Crisis
White House Wants To Buy Distressed Assets From Banks In Danger Of Failing; Needs Congress' OK

It ain''t about McCain or Obama winning. It''s about the party bosses winning.
You look it up. It starts with the writting of the Constitution. The Presidental election was never supposed to be between the choice of two parties. The Founding Fathers wanted to create a system where parties were not involved. The President was chosen by the electoral college, not the popular vote. They knew that if the vote was directly in the hands of the people the political parties would form and they would deliberately use emotionally devicive arguments to sway the voters.
Anybody could run and not someone chosen by political delegates. The one with the most votes got to be prez and #2 got to be vp. That worked fine, when Washington was president, but after he left Adams and Jefferson started to use party politics to devide the people. (Ever hear of Alexander Hamilton and the Federalist Papers?)
The political parties then worked to take the power away from the electoral college and get it for themselves by telling people they should have the power to vote directly for president. What they got was the power themselves to choose the candidates and limit the number of people who could run.
I did look it up, now you look it up. - Reply to this comment
- Keep fighting, keep hacking at each other. That''''s exactly what the power brokers want. While your occupied fighting with each other they are robbing both of you. They don''''t rob you blind. First they blind you then they rob you.

That''s right,,,divide and conquer
That''s the new political mantra, or motto. Either way, I have been saying that for 2 yrs now, among other things. - Reply to this comment
- The Bush administration asked lawmakers Thursday for the power to rescue banks by buying distressed assets that lie at the heart of the financial system''s crisis.

More absolute absurdity from the administration.
After allowing investment banks to make deals that were downright bogus, the administration now wants to stick we taxpayers with the losses.
Again, we suffer for the administration''s total ineptness. - Reply to this comment

- Obama supporters and McCain supporters its time for a reality check.
The people who really run the Democratic machine don''t really care if McCain wins and the people who really run the Republican machine don''t really care if Obama wins. Either way, they are going to keep running things, not you and they are just happy to see you all fighting like dogs over a bone about "your candidates".
You get the bone because the party bosses have taken all the meat and you aren''t even allowed into the feast.
