White House Wants To Buy Distressed Assets From Banks In Danger Of Failing; Needs Congress' OK
- Why shouldn''t someone vote for a Ron paul or any 3rd choice? The framers of the Constitution never intended that elections get down to voting for the choice of two parties only. That was exactly what they didn''t want to happen.
Why should you give up on the idea of voting for Mitt Romney or Hilary Clinton or Ron Paul because some super delegate decided that they would not represent "his" party?
We all sort of got the idea that arranged marraiges was a pretty bad idea and we now look at the people who arrange them as jerks just trying to arrange a deal to benefit themselves and not the individuals involved. I don''t see much difference between a marraige broker and a delegate. In either case they shouldn''t be making thec hoice of who will be *** us.
And how did we get "Super Delegates" anyway? I thought it was "one man one vote". What''s next "Super Voters"? Oh, my mistake, we do have super voters, they are called political parties. They decide who gets into office, not us. - Reply to this comment

- If not Ron, who then?
Who''ll take the country back, to where it needs to go?
The Dim-o-wits won''t do it. The Repugnants will just end up stealing it from us.
Just who''s out there that will do the right thing? - Reply to this comment
- For God''s Sake man... McCain said just yesterday that if he were president he would fire the SEC Commissioner... The IDIOT does not know that the President does not have the power to fire the SEC Chairman... We cannot risk him getting into the White House... the stupid freak wont even live long enough to see the end of this crisis let alone have the brains to fix it...

- The headline says it all.
"Bush Seeks Broader Power For Bank Crisis"
Everytime something goes wrong the answer always is..
"Give me more power and I will fix it for you."
And we give it to them...(and not just Bush).
Then we wonder why are emails get read, our phone calls get monitored and our movements get restricted.
We hand the power over so easily that it has reached the point where if there isn''t a crisis that those in power can use to justify taking more power then they can just manufacture a crisis. Why not? Nobody ever argues with them.
And if you think McCain or Obama would turn down the opportunity to get more power, you are either dreaming or delusional. The last US President who willingly turned down more power was George Washington. Look it up. - Reply to this comment

- kcblogger,
Yes, it is a big mess. But, the last time it happened it took a Democrat who was not only looking out for the interests of the rich to get us through it. Let''s see what happens. I know one thing for sure, the keys to the kingdom need to be taken out of the hands of the GOP. - Reply to this comment
- slim1h2o,
I agree. It''s time for every average American regardless of race, gender, religion, etc. to stand up against these corporate thieves and tell them WHOSE COUNTRY THIS REALLY IS!
The GOP allowed BANKS to write bills (for example, the bill that made it harder for average citizens to file for bankruptcy) and now they expect us to bail them out of their own self-inflicted mess!!! This is UNACCEPTABLE!! Who received a bonus in the last few years from this mess? They need to give it back WITH INTEREST!! - Reply to this comment
- Governments have been pumping trillions of dollars into banking and financial institutions all over the world for the last two years... And now bush wants more power to try and do something about the economy he swore was sound for that two year period... My God what a friggin idiot.

- I have heard from republicans that by God if labor costs go up then so does the price for goods and services. I screamed at them about how CEO''s Golden Parachute retiremnt plans do the same thig. That in 1980 the average CEO made 40 times the wages as the average worker for that company and now that same CEO makes 485 times the average worker of that same company. BUT, Trailer park republicans just simply would not listen to basic logic. I told them facts like if Wal-Mart were to roll back just 2 percent of their total profits to their workers then the workers would have not only good pay but excellent benefits.

- George Bush and the heads of the associated regulator agencies should be FIRED for letting this get out of hand. All the CEO of these banks should be in jail not getting large fees (severance packages) for ***-up.
