Tensions have flared between Somali workers and officials at a Colorado meatpacking plant over when employees can break for prayer during the Muslim observance of Ramadan.

They want sympathy, haaaahaaaaahhaaaaahaaaaaaaaaa. I can''t write anymore I''m laughing so hard.

They would never show respect for non Muslim traditions over there.

If they dont want the Job they can go Home I am sorry but religion should not be forced on a company to accomodate them in any way what so ever. If someone in SANTERIA WANTS TO kILL A CHICKEN ON THE jOB FOR THE sAINTS ARE WE GOING TO ALLOW THAT AS WELL? What a crock.. the company already accomodated them by changing the times for them now they simply want to push the envelope for all they can get. Pretty soon it will be illegal to NOT be a Moslem..... i hope the company sticks to its guns..

I don''t get it. Why would you accept a job that will not allow you to perform what you believe your highest duty is?

I see the free market at work here. These folks can find a job or an employer that WILL accommodate their personal lives. If they''re good workers, I''m sure an employer will work with them. From the other side, if the economy and job situation is as bad as I read on the news....sounds like 150 people near Greely are about to find work at a meat packing plant to replace those who volunatarily left! Hooray for them and their families!

How misleading can a headline be. I live in the Denver area and these people were fired because they failed to work when their union contract said they would.
Just imagine a Christian saying that he wasn''t going to work between such and such a time each day during a given month because the Lord Jesus Christ called him to prayer.

Yep, yep,yep, I have known you folks for so long. I also know you are not one bit better than anyone else. You are not anymore ''saved'' than I am. I am happy and free, partially because I don''t have to go to your miserable church services on Sunday morning. I read the morning papers, watch those television news talk shows, and enjoy the day. For someone who posts as txgrouch, you now accuse me of living a miserable life. I have been around you born again types for all of my adult life. I went off to college and all those Jesus Freaks would tell me it was a waste of time to study because the end of the world was going to happen soon.
