Speculators. Now the grandstanding republicans who are speaking to an empty chamber so they can hear their own bloaviating voices are taking credit for the fall in gas prices. Bunch of empty, addlebrained suits! I assume they are afraid they won''t get their monthly paychecks from the oil barrons unless they do their dog and pony show and look like the total idiots they are. "Fetch! Now bring it back! Now drop it in my hand and you''ll get a treat!""

the only logical reason for such swings in prices is spectulation - forward contracts a-go-go have reaped billions and it would be interesting to see these transactions - who made them, when they were bought & sold.

as we know supply increases take years to achieve, the recent price drops can only be due to either drastic demand decreases, or spectulators.

doesn''t seem we''ve stopped driving, so I put the finger on a massive public rip-off through artifical, spectulatively driven "demand" -

worth an investigiation?

Hope you aren''t fooled by all of this. We''re so tired of being slaves to our addiction to foreign oil. Come on everyone else is enjoying our hard earned dollars while more and more families can''t afford food and diapers because they have to put gas in their cars to just get to work. We shouldn''t care if oil comes down to a $1. We need energy solutions that are clean, renewable and made in America. Everyone needs to sign up and follow the new social network on alternative energy thats all about a clean energy technology that no one covers called gasification. You can get off the grid, power your house, car, job site all on bio waste like coffee grinds, grass, wood scraps... Disaster areas could have instant power by just gasifying all the waste biomass (trees, broken wood, shrubs). You can make a gasifier out of recycled parts and do it in one weekend. Check it out www.VictoryGasworks.com

This techology also cuts down on all the waste we put into landfills. Not to mention all the fossil fuels we use to pick up all our bio trash. That''s how we stick it to the oil boys and foreign oil tycoons.

Read the news on Iran. Bush and Cheney will never let the price of oil fall far. They''ll decide that the CIA and UN reports that Iran isn''t building nookyular weapons are false, and we''ll invade. The tiny Democrat minority won''t be able to do much about that.

f you think Exxon''''s 9% profit is too high, just don''''t buy their product.

-------------

I don''t and never have. The major city I live in has a gasoline price difference of about .30 to .40 a gallon going on right now...with your pals at Exxon, Chevron, and Shell being the highest priced.

Big oil has always raped people at the pump, and always will.

Let''s see:

1. The gas & oil industry has a long and distinguished history of cheating the public through price-fixing, price-gouging, cost manipulation, buying off politicians, and assorted other means!

2. What we are seeing is no ''bubble'' but a recurring pattern that I''ve witnessed from the 1970''s!

3. The government under the Bush administration is UNDERWRITING the oil industry for Christ''s sake! How nice to be getting welfare checks from the govt to pay for activities that should be considered a business cost!

4. A 9% profit amounts to $11.64 billion dollars, let''s round it off, for the sake of argument to 12, for the 2nd quarter of 2008! Not freaking bad! What''s that OVER $200,000 per hour profit or so?! (Someone else do the math, please) SO, DON''T ASK ME TO CRY FOR THE OIL INDUSTRY! I WON''T!

5. And this, while they damage the environment. And, then skate out of paying on lawsuits against them!

6. If they can''t run their business in a reasonable manner, it CAN, and SHOULD BE, NATIONALIZED!

7. It''s amazing how some little posters will feign ignorance or are ignorant and act to protect these scoundrel companies in their nefarious ways as they continue to hurt Americans and America!

The brother in humble circumstances ought to take pride in his high position. But the one who is rich should take pride in his low position, because he will pass away like a wild flower. For the sun rises with scorching heat and withers the plant; its blossom falls and its beauty is destroyed. In the same way, the rich man will fade away even while he goes about his business.

Tucker never had a car that ran on water. If it could be done, the Japaneze would be doing it. They don''t have any oil or oil industry.

The price of oil went up nearly 60% for 6 months before the price of gas went up. We have probably seen something of a bubble here, which may or may not have burst. Prices go up and down for a variety of reasons, in spite of the absolutes that some of the silly little posters to this page like to pretend.
I know that I couldn''t drill for oil, ship it half way around the world, and refine it and make any money trying to sell it at any price.
If you think Exxon''s 9% profit is too high, just don''t buy their product.

My comments are as follows:

1. Overall demand is NOT that much down.

2. Price per barrel is coming down a LOT more than the price of a gallon of gas at the pump!

3. Once again, does anyone get the feeling they are being played for a sucker, here?!

4. I wouldn''t be the least bit surprised to see gas drop to $3 bucks a gallon by election time---then, go back up to $4 bucks within 48 hours after the election!

Conclusion: Vote these ''CONS out of office while we still have a country! It will be the job of any Democratic-controlled Congress to RESTORE the rights & liberties guaranteed by the Constitution & Bill of Rights that Bush and the republicans have illegally stolen from us!

The greedy oil barrons shot their wad and killed their cash cow....they made oil and gas so expensive that consumers slashed their consumption leaving big oil speculators caught with their pants down.

I hope they and everyone who bought oil stocks lose theirasses.

Fictitious speculations.

Demand for oil is NOT that much down. In the chemical industry there is rationing of raw materials because natural gas is being preferentially used in crackers instead of oil.

These speculators are killing us. When they''re opimistic the sky''s the limit; when a little turndown occurs they overreact toward crashing. TAKE OUT THE ENRON LOOPHOLE PLEASE!

Seethe movie Tucker.A man and A Dream. He had a car that ran on water and made the mistake of selling the idea to the oil boy''s.

Prices drop for two reasons: The demand is down due to the price and the repugs have pressured the oil boy''s due to the election!
