Oil Giant's Revenue Rises 40 Percent In 2Q, But Fell Short Of Wall Street's Expectations
- I worked in a refinery in Ponca City, OK and later as an oil & gas accountant for a number of oil firms in Houston finishing at DOE auditing oil companies. So, I feel I have some expertise in oil matters.
---------------------------
The American people have to know that the oil companies are using their net profits to explore for new oil but for the most part (over 60%) as dividends for their shareholders and to buy back their own stock. Second, oil from the Alaska Pipeline winds up mostly in Asian markets. So, there is no guarantee that new offshore oil will wind up in the USA. In fact, the oil companies sell where they can get the best price. - Reply to this comment

If you really believe that: don''t drive on our roads. Don''t use 20% of our electricity (that comes from gov''t built dams). Don''t use electricity at all if you live in a rural area (gov''t 100% paid for those lines to go in). etc. etc. - Reply to this comment

Good point! I have not calculated my income ''cause it just changed; I am now, proudly, after 52 year''s, honorably served my country and then worked the street''s, an official burden to society. :) - Reply to this comment

Isn''t that about what the government''s take is on corporate taxes just with Exxon? What is the government doing with that tax windfall?
- pushing income redistribution through rebates
- pushing income redistribution through housing credits.
- pushing income redistribution through "help" to people that spent beyond their means.
You folks just keep villifying Exxon and the rich while our government picks your pocket either directly or through a tax system. Any tax the government levies ends up as collateral damage to your income. Always. - Reply to this comment

Yes you have, you just don''t know it. My "ex" used to work for Exxon & billed Mobile, BP, Shell etc etc for Exxon gas delivered to them, and vise-versa. No-one ever know''s what "brand" they are getting when they get gas. (I was not even allowed into her office in Houston). Buy what you think you are buying, but you are not getting what you think you are. - Reply to this comment

- They are only making 8.3 cents per dollar.
Can anybody name a company that makes less than that?
Would it not be nice if the Government only took 8.3 Cents on a dollar?

You know, my friend, this president could have AND SHOULD have placed price controls on the price of a gallon of gas, THEN it wouldn''t be so high priced!
But he wouldn''t do that because he''s heavily indebted to the energy sector! And, the position of the president allows him to act unilaterally to make immediate decisions UNLIKE Congress! So, if action IS needed, the president can instigate an action AND do it quicker! And, in most cases, SHOULD come from him.
However, I fully agree that Congress continues to NOT do it''s job! And, I pray every day that people like Pelosi, Schumer, Feinstein, McConnell, Graham, Roberts, and other assorted scum, are NOT re-elected! - Reply to this comment
- 7.2 cents per gallon profit! Everyone can blame thge wastyeful Americans and their automoblies for the profit based on VOLUME not profit margin, but of course the 67 percenters, the leftwing aters do not require the truth juust more stories.

- Shell didn''t do bad either! I see that Wall Street took another hit today. It seems that just about every time Oil tries to sneak up a couple dollars per barrel The Madison Avenue Crowd and my IRA suffers along with those outlaws only I can''t afford it.
Jusst got heating oil the other day @ 4.00 per gallon. Oil drops 20 dollars per barrel, in a couple of weeks, and heating oil & gasoline goes up. Food prices are escalating as well, etc.

Wall Street has become a lost & loss cause. There has got to be a better Idea for your IRA. The Save the Planet & GLW crowd couldn''t be happier. Do you get the feeling we''re part of their food chain and are being left behind?
