Payments Give Huge Jolt To After-Tax Incomes And Consumer Spending But Boost May Not Last
- Yep, in perfect and typical Democrat fashion, a rally based wholy on style, rather than substance. The Democrats are months awy from getting exactly what they epitomize and deserve: 4 years of symbolism, style, appearances, good speeches, and absolutely nothing whatsover accomplished.

- And another thing is energy. Democrats and energy.. holy macaronni.. talk about conspiracy theories. We can go nuclear! Unlimited electricity.. But no. "Jane Fonda says no."
The key difference is enrichment. You see, Uranium comes in various forms. And Its mined as Uranium 238. Thats the stable atom. But fer some reason Americans wanna ionize it to Uranium 239. Makes no sense.. Its unstable. Use it as Uranium 238. And power yer cities.. safely.

Allow me to educate you a little... "Uranium-235 is not the only possible fuel for a power plant. Another fissionable material is plutonium-239. Plutonium-239 can be created easily by bombarding U-238 with neutrons -- something that happens all the time in a nuclear reactor." and why? "The amount of uranium-235 that you must collect together in a sphere to get a critical reaction is about 2 pounds (0.9 kg). This amount is therefore referred to as the critical mass. For plutonium-239, the critical mass is about 10 ounces (283 grams)."

- "Stimulus Checks Making Economic Waves"
Unfortunitly for any planned impact the
economic waves came on the very day that
oil was making an economic tsunami.
This "impact large enough to make economic
waves" spread was probably typeset with
graphics a couple months ago.

- Fact of the matter is: Democrats never give tax payer money back to the tax payer. They think its one big universal shopping mall. "Lets do this." "Lets do that." And its not. Yer philanthropy is a mandating misdirection of resources that should be voluntary.

- I wonder why there are so many military retirees that seem to hate the USA on these forums.
Why do people with retirements get so angry toward the hand that feeds them? - Reply to this comment

- China holds 24% of our national debt. If they cashed in the treasuries they hold, we could NOT pay. Our economy would completely crash. The only reason they don''t, is that WE are their biggest customer for their goods.

- The Great Emperor Bush II is extremely happy that his "idea" of the stimulus checks is working so well.
Corporate profits are up, the wealthy are more richer than they were before, and shareholders on Wall Street are happy that they will not be stuck with worthless pieces of paper.
Of course, the stimulus checks have NOT brought down the price of gasoline, the price of groceries, clothing, energy, or the Friday evening family dinner at McDonald''s, but these are minor matters to the Great Emperor Bush II who now sees himself as an expert "economist", ready to advise "Bagdad John McBush" McCain on McCain''s economic agenda since McCain is totally clueless on the subject (among other subjects he is "clueless" on!).
SIG HEIL, BUSH!!!!!
sig heil, DEFINITELY MORE OF THE SAME, McCain!!!! - Reply to this comment
- Boosted the economy to what? From really cr#ppy to just simply cr#ppy?
I don''t see these "economic stimulis" checks as a gift from the federal government. They just didn''t keep as much taxes this year. This is still my money, they just didn''t take as much away from me by force.
If the economy shows a nice boost because of these checks, and the federal government still has enough money to function, doesn''t this just mean that WE ARE TAXED TOO MUCH?
After reading this news, I also read where ALL oil analysts are predicting $150 barrel oil. That more then eats up these stimulis checks. Six months from now, these checks will be a distant memory. - Reply to this comment
- Don''t you think yesterdays stock market reflects the impact of the checks? That is, zero.

- This is pathetic. The government writes bad checks to "stimulate" the economy. The most BROKE institution on the face of the Earth is the United States! We as a people are nine-thousand-billion (nine trillion) dollars in debt, and we look to the borrower of that money for HELP? Unbelievable.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The entire point of the stimulus package program in the first place was/is to postpone the inevitable until after the elections.
Bush has been borrowing money to prop up the economy for 7 years, while increasing our future taxes to nearly $10 trillion plus another $10 trillion in interests over the next two decades.
This administration actually WANTS democrats to win the elections this year so they can enjoy their borrowed/stolen profits while accusing democrats of being tax and spenders for trying to save the country from the disastrous effects of their ruinous policies. - Reply to this comment
