The Hummer''s marketing is directly related to the Iraq war. It''s ironic that a vehicle that got it''s start in an oil rich country would fall victim to oil. People are losing interest and are fed up, and that relates to both the Hummer and the war.

I get the whole Bush & his administration have done nothing routine. But to blame the Bush administration for not doing something about a problem (alternative fuel) that began years ago is ridiculous. Any ding dong should realize this was coming 30 to 40 years ago. That''s when they should have started working on an alternative. Brain check.

They never should have made the hummer available to the general public in the first place. It is nothing more than an "ego" machine.

Are you telling me the Iraqis are some how more fanatics than the Japanese or the German, you , my friends have not read the Nanking Massacre , have not study world war 2 Japanese and GErman societies and have not read about the Holocaust....the fanatism of the Arab nowadays is nowhere in comparison to facist Japan and Nazi Germany , not even close ...yes , they blow themselves up , but look at the Kamikaze suicide bombers , look at the SS Death Heads units , look at the atrocities committed in the area they occupied and then you will see if the Radical Muslims now are any worse than the Facists and Nazis ...good thing is the Fanatics now do not have the masses and resource to back them up like they did in WW2 and now we are much stronger than them , that is the different . As for the regular people , Iraqi and japanese and GErmans , I believe most of them were just deceived by the fews...now the Iraqis have waken up and help us , things will definitely be better , the question is , will we have the patience to enjoy the fruits ....

It is still more patriotic to buy an American car than a foriegn one... no matter where they are physically made. Remember where the profits go folks!

He should get this years "Friends of OPEC" Award

Well it''s about time the Hummer bit the dust. The world production of crude oil is less than the world demand. This discrepancy will only grow larger over the next twenty years. The U.S. economy will be unable to adjust to this change unless the government comes up with a viable energy policy. The Bush administration and congress have made no effort to solve this problem.

So will the Americans remember Bush''''''''s firmness and determination when Iraq become more stable in the future , when just as Japan and Germany , after the initial turmoil , Iraq will be one of our most important allies beside Isreal in the Middle EAst.

Perhaps Japan and Germany wanted our help. Iraq doesn''t. They won''t be our ally. They''ll turn into another fanatical islamic ruled nation or run by a military dictator. That''s all the middle east knows.

And why would Bush get credit for capturing Bin Laden? Bush is the one that stopped looking for him.

Fans of GM and other "American" makers can argue all they want but the numbers don''t lie. Prices of their vehicles and the imports are equivalent (I checked) but Detroit keeps losing money and market share year after year against the imports. The number one factor? QUALITY. Forget loyalty, people will buy the better product for their money. Until Detroit understands that and build better cars instead hoping for better sales by making "nostalgia" vehicles, they will continue to lose.

See ya Hummer, don''t let the door hit your *** on the way out. I always thought it was an ugly and useless auto before rising gas prices now it seems GM is affirming this. Remember those Hummer ads from not too long ago that showed newpaper headlines saying things like ''Hummer owners to the rescue'' and showing clips of the cars driving offroad and the tag line was ''Purpose built'' ya, I''m sure the vast majority of Hummer owners are out on weekends saving lives, but for those that have then great. If the car was built for that then why do I see them in the city? And people drive them to work? I don''t think that is their purpose.

Don''''t be so sure all you Obamies out there , Just as people now recall Bill Clinton''''s years with fondness rather than the non-sense criticism of his affairs when he was president , So will the Americans remember Bush''''s firmness and determination when Iraq become more stable in the future , when just as Japan and Germany , after the initial turmoil , Iraq will be one of our most important allies beside Isreal in the Middle EAst , when Afganishtan announce the capture of Bin Laden ...then the world will see how Bush is different from the like of CArter and Obama ....Calling names all you want , just like I have seen the day the Surge actually produce good results , I will see the day people mention Bush with fondness...Truely , it is good that America still safe from Terrorists attack 8 years after 9/11, that what really matters, what your liberals think , I can care less , just like bad odors , I do not let it get close to me ....After Bush , Mc Cain will be our next president, as far as I am concern , Obama IS HISTORY ...and so as your idiotic Liberals..

Right now, our gas in Las Vegas went up 6 cents over night to $4.05 a gallon. We get 26mpg (for a 10 yr old car 6 cylinder, that isn''t bad). I bought the car as used and had to get what the finance company would approve me for 3 years ago. Being only a one-income household, it is getting rough to make ends meet. I would love to be able to have the credit score to go and buy a smaller vehicle (4 cylinder) getting 32mpg, but I don''t. Because of my health, I can not work. And living in Southern Nevada where we have 115 degree days in summer, healthwise I would not survive without my air conditioner. I have hypertension and extreme heat cause severe nosebleeds not to mention crippling headaches. I have heat stress at least 4-5 times per year when the power goes off and have had numerous complications from it. I gave up trying to eat wholesome foods, I rarely (once a week, due to all day errands) go out to eat, which is at best McDonald''s due to their $1 Value Menu, and survive on 2 $1 Banquet microwave Meals a day, only because "real food" is too pricey to cook anymore. You try pricing food these days? We do have the resources for our own fuel, but the government would lose all the taxes (their pay) if they were to sign bills to tap into our own resources. So, why would they cut their own throats and starve their families to let us take care of our own?
