- The Energy Dept. is about as capable as weather forecasters-in fact, one has to wonder if any of the whiz kids running things have any notion about what they''re doing. Then the speculators-it''s going to be lovely when the bottom falls out on them.
Of course, Americans who did not need to drive could all park for a day and shock the heck out of everything and maybe add a few million gallons to the supplies. But we aren''t inclined to be team players. - Reply to this comment
- using a LIMITED resource as a major source of energy isn''t the brightest idea in the first place, but continuing to use it as such is just plain STUPID.
but then again, policy makers already know this. it''s never been about cheap affordable energy, it has and always will be about making the almighty dollar. - Reply to this comment
- $150/barrel is on the horizon and will be here by summer.
The terrorists and radical Muslims are determined to ruin our economy, and they seem to be doing exactly that.

- While the American economy burns, the Cowardly Cowboy fiddles. By the time we get an intelligent man in the office, like Barry Obama, it might be too late to repair the amazing amount of damage that this clown has done!

- I continue to believe that the dramatic increase in the price of oil is most directly attributable to the the increase in demand by China and India. Over the past 50 years, the world has grown up around us and we are no longer the preeminent supplier or consumer that we were in the past. The traders know that if we don''t buy the oil, China and India will. We have lost our leverage. More than anything, this is simple supply and demand. These global changes and their effects upon our economy and standard of living are of historical dimensions.

Same old lame excuse day after day-that''s pure spite toward us,the US citizens.

- "Many analysts have long argued that prices have risen well beyond levels that can be justified by supply and demand fundamentals."
Well,....HELLO!? This is why the oil companies have been making huge profits for the last 4 years. While blaming Opec on their so called "reluctance to increase production". That''s lie. And the Saudis are just sitting and watching in amazement at how the average american is getting destroyed by it''s own
greed. Just like the last days of Rome. Greed, political corruption and overextending of the Military is a recipe for disaster.
You want a conspiracy? There''s your conspiracy. How in God''s names can this be blamed on Supply and Demand?
From $66.00 a barrel to $132.00 in a year?

- It is time for "We The People" to stand up to the International "drug lords" whose goal is to keep us addicted while slowly raising the price We must pay for each fix, bleeding our way of life and our future dry.
It is time for "We The People" to stand up to the "corporate hogs" whose greed drives their every decision, who work hand in hand as pimps for the "drug Lords", making sure those in this country who are in power behave like weak-minded lap dogs, occasionally barking to make us believe they know what''s best.
It is time for "We The People" to stand up to the self-aggrandizing, ego driven politicians, who praise God and Country with every breath, while raping and pillaging those blind souls who will listen to the same lies repackaged by some new Machiavellian wizard and then vote as they "should", uncaring as to what is best for themselves or the Country. Their minds have been clouded by the wizard''s spell.
So what can "We The People" do to break our addiction to foreign oil, and their ever tightening economic noose?

Are you on crack? For anything to get done, the Democrats need a 2/3 majority, not just a simple majority, to override your boy Bush. They HAVE tried passing legislation that would cut gas use (see: mpg requirements on cars) BUT your idiot-in-chief vetoed it.
Your Republican congress spent the last 12 years *** over the American people - the least you can do is give the Democrats the same amount of time to fix everything! - Reply to this comment
- [One thing to remember under the Clinton era, he depleted our national oil reserve to keep the prices lower. In the last 8 years, we are still filling this reserve back up for what Clinton did. ]

where do you people come up w/ this stuff?
really? is it a figment of your imagination ... are you throwing darts and adding up the numbers ... or is it a bingo cage w/ a bunch cranks and some random picks?
total reserve capacity is over 700 million barrels. clinton released 30 million in late summer/fall 2000.
so ... how does 700m - 30m = empty? - Reply to this comment
