Good point. And if any president can make oil prices rise or fall then why isn''''t he complaining now about Bush? If I calculate right the price of oil has dramatically increased ON BUSH''''S WATCH.

I like how the neocons would rather talk about if Gore were president on 9/11 or if Obama is president in 2010 instead of spending any time on WHAT IS HAPPENING NOW!

Agreed. They (those that label libs, etc.) always say you can''t have it BOTH ways and then look at this issue here.....argue the other side already and ignore who''s the boss!! Sad that we can''t open our eyes.

We need to go back and study a little history and borrow ideas from Republican/Democratic Presidents of the past to change our Middle Eastern policies to just be smarter and think about long-term impact!!

BagdadsHere,

If you want to blame somebody for not having an EXIT STRATEGY, you need to do it with those IN CHARGE today. I remember your kind bragging about the experience in Bush''s administration. LOOK AT WHAT EXPERIENCE HAS BROUGHT US...

NO END PLAN TO A WAR THAT WAS NOT A NECESSITY!

Baghdads,

In case you missed it....here''s what likely would happen based on Middle Eastern history.

This won''''t happen.
#1. Saudi Arabia will NOT allow Iran to take Iraqi oil nor will Turkey...each are mostly Sunni and Iran would pose a direct threat to them. They''''d hire out or Turkey would come fight themselves. Egypt and Jordan would be interested in aiding Saudi Arabia and these groups would pay Al-Qaeda, bombers, etc. to attack Iran. #2. Even when we tell Israel to do something (Republican or Democrat) when have they ever followed "our" wishes and not their own??? They''''ll keep that up either way.

Sadly, when Saddam was IN POWER, he dumped cheap oil on the market keeping our prices incredibly low. How ironic it all is and how it always comes back. Did you know GW''''s daddy refused to remove Saddam because he thought it would create an unstable Middle East and oil supply? Oh, the apple fell far from that tree!

I meant that Americans can"t complain. For now the gas price is still low but if Barack HUSSEIN OSAMA wins the elections we"re going to have really bad news.

Posted by BagdadsHere at 05:16 PM : May 02, 2008

I''m just curious, how will the price of oil/gas change with anyone? What factors can Obama or Clinton/McCain for that matter actually change the price of oil?? They''re not members of OPEC and they don''t control the production of oil either!! Remember when GW said that the war would pay for itself with cheap Iraq oil?? Apparently that has not happened since it''s now double pre-war prices!! Backfired on that one......

underdogus,,,,The bad news would be: BARACK HUSSEIN OSAMA WINS THE ELECTIONS AND IS THE NEXT PRESIDENT, US TROOPS WITHDRAW AND IRAN TAKES CONTROL OF IRAQ,PERSIAN GULF AND CUTS THE FLOW OF OIL TO AMERICA,BARACK HUSSEIN OSAMA QUIT SUPPORTING ISRAEL AND IRAN STRIKES TELAVIV CAUSING ISRAEL TO LAUNCH A COUPLE NUCLEAR MISSILES INTO TEHRAN. DO YOU WANT MORE?

The world is running out of oil, the Chinese are drinking oil like camels in the desert and next year the gas will hit $7 dollar per gallon. Yes the headline above is a very good news , only the FAR LEFT WING dont wanna admit.

---------------------

Compared to previous months'' job shedding, it is good news.

Still a lot of job losses, whose repercussions on the national economy cannot always be a good thing.

Drivers in the US and other countries are using oil too, you know. (though I don''t recall the number of product recalls being higher in any other time of history...)

You are the one who lives in a FANTASY ISLAND. Are you Alice in wonderland? In Norway the gas costs $7 dollar per barrel but the average salary is $4,000 dollar a month. In Brazil the gas costs $3 dollar per gallon and the average salary is $750 dollar per month.

What are you even saying here??? This is like apples to oranges in your debate!! A little clarity please.

dogsoul,

Who is they? Bush and Co say the economy is resilient and cite unemployment levels as an example. However, if you added back in all the people they kick out of the calculation monthly, the number would be MUCH HIGHER.

"Unemployment rates are kept artificially low to fool DUPES like yourself that the economy is doing well. "

okay - so why wouldn''t they have been trying to dupe us all along????

ya know - because they''ve been saying how badly the economy is doing

bhoogren,

You made three comments that have absolutely no connect to what I sad. I know how the Labor Department calculates unemployment and IT IS WRONG. Unemployment rates are kept artificially low to fool DUPES like yourself that the economy is doing well.

BagdadsHere,

Your point? Clearly gasoline prices will need to increase and the sooner people figure it out the better. That will be whether MCCAIN, CLINTON, or OBAMA end up in office.

We need to stop being wuzzies. We want unlimited wars without a draft. We want tax cuts while maintaining costly wars. All gain, no pain.

Sometimes you gotta go through a little bit of pain. It would help if politicians (and political mongers) stopped lying and told people the truth. Life is not easy and short-term pains are better than long-term disasters.

Seems you do not know how to connect dots. How can the unemployement rate drop when the country has lost a greater than zero net amount of jobs? Clearly somebody is playing with the figures. The first step is kicking all those who haven''''t found a job in a certain amount of time out of the calculation.

Seems you are the one who does not know how to connect the dots.

Step 1. Go to the Department of Labor web site.

Step 2. Learn how unemployment is calculated.

Step 3 (Optional) Learn what you are talking about before making ignorant cut-downs.
