I disagree. It''s the PSYCHOTIC, BACKWARD, NON-SENSE, RADICAL CHRISTIAN policy of taking oil in cheaper prices from Arabs and in return supporting their those enemies who were brought into Palestine after WWII to occupy the PALESTINIAN LAND far away from the CONCENTRATION CAMPS in Germany to buy HATRED, TERRORISM and 9/11 for the UNHOLY LAND UNITED STATES and GOD-NEGLECTED AMERICANS, which ruined United States, her economy and her interest! - Reply to this comment

- The gas prices are nothing compared to Obamas "GLOBAL POVERTY PLAN" will make us subject to the laws of the UN. Think people before its to late to sniff my name posted.
Do you want to be subject to the UN? That means once its passed the UN forces can drop from the skies in any town in America and no one can stop them then!
Remember to thank your friend Obama for making this a possible reality! - Reply to this comment

- Does anyone know why there is no comment section on the marijuana story? Seems odd that they put the story up but won''t allow any discussion. Just curious.

GASOLINE PRICES REACH U.S.AVERAGE OF $3.50 [HOUSTON CHRONICLE NewsMail and Response by Howard Stern. 4/22/2008
Sugar Land, TEXAS
Do the Corporate and [including the Texas State Government Agencies] represent special interests. not the interests of the public?
Do they really want new inexpensive Fuels to relieve the pain of the steady higher prices at the Gas Pump?
There are too many people with vested interests in Texas and Florida who want the ''Status Quo'' and provide very little space for a small innovative company..
For the past six months (and many years before that period) I have been ''shouting in the wilderness'' and to major News Media that I have TECHNOLOGY and SYSTEMS to provide as much as 12+ Billion gallons* [U.S.] of CLEAN BioEthanol at less than half the price of corn and other grains used to produce ETHANOL. I spent more than 30 years in R&D. and now need to Partner because it is a Business that requires adequate manpower who can move quickly to enter the markets and can operate on a worldwide basis. If The Chronicle wants to print the story in the public interest, and wants ''the rest of the story'' it is available. sternh@alltel.net Responses from Major International Companie(s) Only. - That''s true after working so many hours who feels like doing anything else but I doubt that''s the reason we''re taxed so much.
I am fortunate enough to still be a stay at home mom but my teen daughter''s friends aren''t that lucky. Several of her close friends have parents that work till late in the evening. They all come to my house most every weekday after school and they just hang out and do homework and stuff till their parents get off.
I have a friend in Europe and she once told me that they "pay" you to have a kid. I think it''s meant to encourage people to have babies. I guess that''s because of the decline in population over the years. - Reply to this comment
- Now, good conservatives will say, if we didn''t overtax working Americans with work, they''d just use their off-hours for procreation. This way, only the survival of the fittest get to procreate.
Only problem with that idea? Again, if it were true, Europe would be up to its neck in babies. Instead, WE are the ones facing overpopulation in this country, with a positive growth rate for decades. And Europe? Population there has been in DECLINE for decades. Turns out Europeans use their abundant free time to smell the roses. And, not coincidentally, educate themselves about the world they live in. Something corporate America DARE not let happen to the American sheep. - Reply to this comment

For many decades, in Europe, the more religious the country (measured by the percent of the population who went to church), the lower the divorce rate.
Then, you come to America, and find a population MORE religious than ANY in Europe, yet with a divorce rate the surpasses them ALL.
What happened? Seems clear to me that the KNOWN statistic that Americans work more hours every week than Europeans plays into our divorce statistics, in a way no amount of religious observance can counter. Likewise affecting our abilities as parents. - Reply to this comment
- What''s worse is that we''re not getting a pay raise either. Everything is going up but our wages. So now we work 2 jobs or even 3 just to make ends meet and everyone wonders why kids are out of controll. No not an excuse for out of controll children but if the parents are working so many jobs or hours then who''s raising the kids?

Then at that time, perhaps more AMERICANS will be motivated enough to rise up and take back our country... by force!

- The only success of the Bush administration was to help push oil prices to a record by promoting a weak dollar, causing higher inflation by recklessly borrowing and finally by invading Iraq.
Record high oil prices = Mission accomplished! - Reply to this comment

In every major city there are thousands of children begging for food, food is a major problem & now our dollar won''t buy close to half of what it did last year. - Reply to this comment
