- Republicans don''t mind paying high oil prices. They love Bush, the man who helped cause the prices to be this high.
2001: Oil prices spike after 9/11 then fall back. Bush needs to try something new.
2002: Dollar falling. Bush says "I''m not concerned".
2003: Invasion of Iraq. Oil prices start to climb.
2004-2007: War drags on, dollar continues to fall. Oil prices continue to go up and up.
2008: Record oil prices finally achieved.
