- Myself, I own a 2008 Chevrolet 3/4 ton Silverado. I bought that so I could pull my 7,000 lb travel trailer. My truck gets about 15 mpg. I have worked all my life so I could enjoy the American dream. Now that I am retired, I am really enjoying the fruits of my labor. Sure gas prices are high. Does that stop me? No, I just don''t go as far. My truck usually just sits in my driveway. But when I need it, I have it. Like I said before, I have worked all my life so I could do what I am doing and high gas prices will not stop me. If you don''t like it, get another job. The only ones who *** here are the ones that are at the lower end on the economic scale. Get a job, get two jobs, but work for what you want and quit wasting our time here.

Yes, yes, yes...I''ve heard this line of reasoning before. It''s right up there with "it''s my party and I''ll cry if I want to." So, while your middle school mentality suffocates us in your grossly excessive consumption tendencies, I will continue to try to talk some sense into people because there is one this I care more about than my RIGHT to say something...and that is my DUTY to say it. I''m not picking fights here, but why be so beligerent. In the face of all the evidence...I can never understand it. - Reply to this comment
- Anyone who''''s ever seen the hamburger left, that used to be mom and the kids, after a large vehicle collision with one of those high mileage ***** boxes, will think about cutting costs elsewhere before endangering their family''''s lives to save a couple gallons of gas. The entire system has to change.

- The very same people who scream about oil company profits advocate higher taxes on gasoline as a way to encourage conservation. So it''s OK if gas is $4/gallon - so long as the government is raking in tax dollars as opposed to oil companies raking in profits. Go figure.

- In europe people have 30 day mandatory vacations, they are slimmer and happier. If you get sick the government picks up the tab no matter what it is. "There are no torture centers. They don''''t have trillions of dollars in debt. I even have an american friend whose husband went to get back surgery in Germany last month and they even told him to pay whenever he could even though he is not even a citizen. So stop the fear monguering about europe you poor ignorant."
Hey, send us a postcard when you get there. Bon voyage! - Reply to this comment

Well, they can do what they are doing, and whine to the government, so that they pass laws to make autos completely unaffordable AND keep gas taxes high. Thanks libs! - Reply to this comment
- bigjer2008,
Don''t put down the people that bag your groceries, you would b itch and complain if you had to do it yourself. Our country needs the grocery baggers, the janitors, the plumbers, and all these other jobs that you deem meaningless, because your too afraid of getting your little republican hands dirty. - Reply to this comment
