since the first great "republiCON" depression the FED
has not used these tatics,
that should tell everyone a lot about where we really are.
The FED is about to spend over half of its cash to bailout
the banks.

Welcome to the second great "RepubLiCON" depression;

maybe its time for people to wake up to the fact that

the conservative agenda and conservatives in general

are greed driven immoral pigs

Most of you have probably forgotten about how Bush and family were involved in the Savings and Loan scandal. Are you really surprised that Bush''s admin is bailing out Bear Sternbs?

And when talking about the savings and loan debacle don''t forget the "Keating 5" which included John McCain.

it will be best to focus your time, energy and finances on basic survival needs; food, water, gold & silver, land, guns & ammo etc ... discard the unnecessary and get to know your neighbor ..

Should I pay for it with Mastercard, Visa, American Express or Discover card? Maybe get a loan?

we are indeed in extraordinary times .. BUT BEWARE:

the mainstream propaganda machine is already spitting out myth after myth - and now it''s priming the American middle & working poor for what will amount to a bail out of the ELITES .. the same Wall ("War") Street ELITES that sent our jobs and futures overseas and straddled our children and grandchildren with insurmountable debt will soon be asking for our help ... TELL THEM NO .. it will be increasingly apparent over the coming weeks and months that our financial and political systems are out of touch, irrelevant - it will be best to focus your time, energy and finances on basic survival needs; food, water, gold & silver, land, guns & ammo etc ... discard the unnecessary and get to know your neighbor ..

It would be fascinating to know the story of people that have actually been personally affected by the events in this news story.

I''''ve actually had conservatives (in complete seriousness) tell me that Bush has never made an error (ever, in his entire life) and is not responsible for anything that has occurred over the last 7 years. Like most things conservative these days "Bush Derangement Syndrome" is simply a projection of their personal faults onto others.

What I like is when boneheaded conservatives try to blame the democrat led congress for everything that''s wrong with the country right now. I guess we''re all supposed to turn a blind eye towards the last 6 years of the republican led congress, senate, and administration, that got us into this mess in the first place. It''s allegedly ALL the fault of the democrats in congress that barely have a big enough majority to order lunch.

If our country wasn''t ruined by the GOP and the rest of the neo cons, it would be laughable.

This is rich.

Bush "remains optimistic" about our economy, as the Fed is pulling tricks that they haven''t used since the great depression.

Sorry - I''m not feeling very optimistic right now, but I''m sure that will change in January.

olebd said: "I''ll bet the top tier of excutives at Bear Stearns are still taking home their gluttonous salaries at the end of the day. God forbid they take a pay cut! " And at the end of the week, they fly to Kona, Hawaii for the weekend. I''m not kidding, the Kona Airport is FILLED with private jets EVERY weekend: Wall Street Bankers spend their weekends there. They are limo-jetted in Thursday or Friday night and wake up in paradise, leave Sunday night. These days, half of Kona is owned by Charles Schwab (your discount brokerage fees at work), the other half is owned by Michael Dell.

jumkey, I''ve been trying to pin this down to a specific neurosis or psychosis. There are certainly elements of insecurity, paranoia and delusion that keep these people in line with the president. I''m hoping to find some research on the phenomenon.
