The time has come to regulate oil companies like utilities. That''s what you have to do to stop monopolistic profit taking. Puerto Rico, for example, didn''t have any problem with regulating them--the US Supreme Court said so by a unanimous vote.

We didn''t need these folks to tell us this. The shear greed of Bush and the Oil Companies is so hugh and so deep, the nation can not long endure. Has ANYONE looked at the amount of money that has been taken out of our economy and gone straight into the pockets of these people lately. When the people who MOVE everything have that much money taken out of their pockets the nation can not function. Does that bother these greedy people? Of course not, it''s the Neocon way. I''ve got mine to helll with the rest of you. You people who voted for Bush and Cheney should be ashamed.

ROFLMAO When Bush is compared on a daily basis to Hitler the chance of finding even ONE ally is going to be extremely tough. How about we start being AMERICAN''s again. HOw about we leave idiots like you Neocon''s in the dust of the past and become energy self reliant again? Sieg Heil Bush

In fact, poop, if a US president launched such an insane action, I would be one of many Americans who would oppose it from the inside, returning stateside to fight in the streets, if necessary.

Propose to any other country such a plan to make war against so many countries simultaneously, a move that is certain to result in the immediate cutoff of oil to any nation participating, which is certain to result in that country''s immediate economic collapse.

Propose that such countries assume the risk of facing the nuclear capabilities of other countries who would definitely not agree, such as France, Russia, and China.

Propose to our own citizens the idea of imitating Hitler on an even larger scale, to send our sons and daughters to fight an impossible to win battle against several countries, where the worst risk is death, and the most hopeful outcome is failure.

This is how I determine that the US will be alone, and for that matter, even without the majority of US citizens.

In short, a world war, with the US by itself against the world. Contrary to the delusion held by many, the US is not that powerful, it could destroy the world, but could not conquer it, there is a difference.

When a company like Exxon makes 40 billion in 2007, we should know without any doubt that people living in palaces are keeping excessive profits instead of giving the regular guy a price break at the pump.

We use the same amount as Europe, with a similiar footprint and population base. - Posted by TheGateway1

Your population figures are off.

BP''s oil consumption chart counts Europe and Eurasia together. When you add up the populations of Europe and Eurasia together you end up with more than 700 million people.

The US only has 300 million people.

"Why not shut down OPEC militarily?" Posted by Luigi999

Your insane question involves the hostile invasion and occupation of the following countries:

Algeria, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Libya, Nigeria, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Venezuela.

In short, a world war, with the US by itself against the world. Contrary to the delusion held by many, the US is not that powerful, it could destroy the world, but could not conquer it, there is a difference.

Such a deed would, in terms of body count, surpass Hitler''s, and still be unsuccessful, it would prompt other countries, some with nuclear capabilities, to resist the US hegemony, and result in the end of life as we know it.

Even after the invasion of the second OPEC member, the oil supply would instantly dry up, as the other OPEC members would instantly shut off the supply to their attackers, the US. The US economy would not last long enough to establish an occupying force.

"2. Let''''s have a list of those 935 lies you liberals keep mentioning..." Posted by TheGateway1

"The study was posted Tuesday on the Web site of the Center for Public Integrity, which worked with the Fund for Independence in Journalism."

WMD, al-Qaida links debunked
The study counted 935 false statements in the two-year period. It found that in speeches, briefings, interviews and other venues, Bush and administration officials stated unequivocally on at least 532 occasions that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction or was trying to produce or obtain them or had links to al-Qaida or both.

Named in the study along with Bush were top officials of the administration during the period studied: Vice President *** Cheney, national security adviser Condoleezza Rice, Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld, Secretary of State Colin Powell, Deputy Defense Secretary Paul Wolfowitz and White House press secretaries Ari Fleischer and Scott McClellan.

Bush led with 259 false statements, 231 about weapons of mass destruction in Iraq and 28 about Iraq''s links to al-Qaida, the study found. That was second only to Powell''s 244 false statements about weapons of mass destruction in Iraq and 10 about Iraq and al-Qaida."

You asked.

"Bush lashed out at the organization, warning Tuesday: "I think it''s a mistake to have your biggest customers'' economies slowing down as a result of higher energy prices."

Yeah well cluebus; CHINA is gaining that reputation now as the biggest customer, and they are willing to pay the price. It is *US* who helped China''s econ grow massive by buying everything that comes from China.
The supply is not the problem like they said, its the *US* mismanagement and oil conglomerates deliberately keeping supplies tight and the stupid EPA requiring additives. Oil co''s here made RECORD profits every quarter, whats wrong with that picture?

J, all political parties put out misdirection.

It is up to us to sift through it to find the truth.

We do not get much help from the mainstream media so we have to carefully piece together information to get to truth.
