Good Job Republicans ! You guys were right the whole time, and George and D ick, you should be especially proud.
Not only are you killing young men for nothing in Iraq but those that do manage to survive get to come home and be broke as hell.

Delay, Frist, Hasert...helluva a good job..Enjoy the pension !

Bush should be proud! More testimony to the efficacy of stagnant wages and the concentration of wealth at the top of the income pyramid. Remember! Its good for America to export jobs! Free trade is good. Open borders are good!

Not surprisingly...except, perhaps, to the dung-headed, ditto-head sheep who still follow this monster...all of this benefits the "super-rich"...who, as Bush noted, form his "base" of support.

Anyone who had a 3 digit IQ knew that housing and credit was going to burst. Yet those who ran the fed and the treasury say they couldn''t see this freight train coming? Incompetence has cetainly taken on an entirely new meaning since we''ve had 8 years of Bush.

All one needed in order to receive a first mortgage for 90% and a 2nd mortgage to cover all closing costs, new furniture and the 10% down payment was the ability to take nourishment.

People were encouraged to buy homes that they couldn''t afford even on the initial teaser rates.

Who will be held accountable? I suspect we''ll have a market crash and depression. Bush and the GOP will deservedly be blamed. Twenty years of being out of power might be enough to disgrace the Bush name and for the GOP to mend their ways.

runningralph...Thanks for the response to my question. From your defination we always called people like that deadbeats. Never thought of them in political terms. There were people like you describe that were democrats and there were republicans like that too. So I guess the term can be applied wherever it applies. Thanks again.

What is a liberal? A liberal believes people in authority should not try to control the people of whom they are in charge. Let them slide. When they slide too far, pay for rehab. They believe they should have freedom without paying any price. God put the oil in the ground so why should the oil producers be paid for it? There should be no private property, no locks on doors. They would fornicate with anyone, smoke or drink whatever, and get free medical treatment. Doctors should be free of charge. And you can tell from reading these posts they are vicious and threatening in their demands. That is a liberal for you.

Point 1: So, the conservative approach is to "control" the people they "are in charge of"? As a conservative, is that the government you want? Then move to Russia!

Point 2: With regard to oil, the conservatives have consistently vetoed efforts to make the oil companies pay fair royalties on oil. Check the record.

If homes are going for $299,900 in Utah, then, what must they be going for elsewhere? Is it any wonder homes sales have fallen? Add to that the sub-prime loan mess and something most definitely needs to be done to lower the costs of homes.

Sad that some people posting here frame this as a "liberal" or "conservative" issue. Is that really how you see the world?

"My car broke down today." friggin liberals!
"Tidal wave kills 2,200." friggin conservatives!

The whole real estate market is about pumping up the price. What I never could get is how real estate agents could get buyers to bite on the exorbitant prices. The agents and developers have pumped up this bubble and I would like to see prices drop to about half what they are now. But I am a conservative and believe people should get by with less. Unfortunately, in my case, some members of my family have used my modest success as a reason to take up painting or sewing or movie watching or anyhing but trying to either save money or earn it. Which brings me to element51''s question. What is a liberal? A liberal believes people in authority should not try to control the people of whom they are in charge. Let them slide. "Worst Sales Of New Homes On Record"? Democrat Lies Again. That is not what the story says. We have gone from 30% increases in new home sales to only about 5% during this winter when nobody moves or builds a home. Most construction workers don''t even expect to work in the winter time. 30% to 5% is a drop of 25% which is the biggest drop ever but it comes from the highest level of home building ever. Why don''t the Dem''s mention that. I guess its so bad that only Hillary and Bill can save us.

The two organizations have websites and George isn''t connected to either. It listed some of the donors and board of directors and it appeared to be bipartisan...

"Worst Sales Of New Homes On Record"?

So what. The market is temporarily saturated.

And 1% growth, along with only a mere 5% unemployment is NOT A RECESSION.

The liberal media want it to be a recession, but it is not the truth - only a hollow liberal rant.

Liberals are still losing their War Against America.

And the stock market was UP today, CBS.

Get a clue.
