[The Democratically-controlled Congress has no problem with repeatedly bringing up for votes measures calling for the troops'''' withdrawal from Iraq - even if those measures fail - because they''''re trying to make a statement. If they wanted to make a similar statement against Bush, they could do the same thing. But I don''''t see them beating down the hallways in Washington with motions to impeach.][Posted by erichsh at 02:26 PM : Jan 03, 2008]

so then you''re acknowledging that they actually don''t have any power to do anything ... correct?

seems like your blind and tireless support of ''''the illiterate one'''' may be affecting your ability to recognize things for what they truly are.

Back it up, Bob - show me poll results showing 70% of Americans actually want Bush impeached. All I''m doing is calling out the lies as they are posted, and otherwise taking on guys like you who fling out baseless charges. What an arrogant statement - "recognizing things as they truly are" - as though your OPINION of an issue (whatever it is) is somehow the undisputed "truth". Give it a rest.

[Hey vet, are you confusing an approval rating (or lack thereof) with an actual, expressed desire to impeach? Only the extreme lefties (and I assume you are one of those) are calling for an actual impeachment. ]

[Buddy if this were a true statement don''''t you think for one minute that the Democratic controlled congress wouldn''''t impeach Bush. Of course you do have to have evidence in a court to impeach. There in lies congress''''s problem with impeachment.]

so ... the democratically controlled congress can do whatever they want now ... and all republicans will go along?

can you outline your understanding of how anything gets done ... or not ... when your ''control'' is a single vote?

Is there ANYTHING you can see that Shrub and Darth have done wrong???.....anything in the least way Illegal or Questionable???......anything to account for over 70% of ALL American Citizen''s calls for their Impeachment and Removal from Office???

Hey vet, are you confusing an approval rating (or lack thereof) with an actual, expressed desire to impeach? Only the extreme lefties (and I assume you are one of those) are calling for an actual impeachment. Otherwise, by your logic, over 80% of Americans are calling for the forced resignation of the entire Congress - their approval rating is lower than the President''s.

Were there things that Bush and Cheney did wrong? Sure (lots of them), but when you go about with the namecalling ("Shrub" and "Darth"), and preposterously claim that 70% of the country wants Bush impeached, you reveal yourself as hard-core left-wing partisan deluded into thinking your agenda is reflective of the majority POV.

[Note to dumb-*** Libs, unless you are part of the 5% of Americans who still rely on heating oil, the price of oil doesnt affect the price of electricity or your other utilities. If your landlord tries to ram through a rent increase because of "increased energy costs" then you have a dispute with your landlord, not the energy companies.]
[Posted by NameVerified at 01:59 PM : Jan 03, 2008]

so natural gas (or it''s cost) has no connection to the availability or cost of oil?

[You folks have been preaching depression and doom every since Bush has been in office and the truth of the matter is, his administration has been at the helm of the longest running economic expansion in history. ]

he''s also responsible for the worst foreign policy disaster in american history ... aka iraq.

however ... this doesn''t matter and will be ignored or discounted by all ''certified'' bush apologists.

The value of a barrel of oil is fairly stable. Having a barrel of oil reach the price of $100 US is more a function of US inflation and the terrible devaulation of the dollar that has occured on GW Bush''s watch.

While I''m no fan of any presidential candidate at this time, I''m inclined to agree with Ron Paul''s vision of stabilizing and anchoring the value of US currency one means of controlling inflation.

The US dollar today can buy roughly 55% of what it could eight years ago. Way to go Bush!

commonsence1 - rampant speculation contributes to the problem too. The price of any commodity will ultimately rise to the extent that demand exceeds supply - but speculation just adds unnecessary short-term volatility and costs to the commodity''s pricing.
