Also, let me educate the people who claim the CEOs and other managers make too much money: the stockholders, through the Board of Directors, make those decisions. If you think CEOs too much money, buy stock and you''''ll have a vote. Until then, CEO compensation is none of your business. This is the USA, not Communist China.

ALL of us, every one of us, instead of sitting around complaining about our jobs being shipped overseas, should be out there with these people. That''s what our fathers would have done and they built the greatest standard of living on the planet. It''s time we started acting like American''s again and started caring about AMERICAN WORKERS, who are the greatest people in the world!! Sieg Heil Bush!!

I can only assume those posting on here, blaming the Union Workers, must think it is OK, for the CEOs of these Companies to give themselves huge raises and more luxury benefits at the expense of all workers. Why is that OK ?? You watch towards the end of the year, rather this Strike is settled or not, those up in Corporate will be giving themselves a hefty-plenty cost of living raise, while asking the workers to take consessions !! They also will not cut back on their corporate advertising expense, for which they spend multi-millions, that are passed on to the cost of the very car-truck you buy !! They spend multi-millions on advertising from TV, RADIO, BILL BOARDS, Magazine ads, newspaper ads, etc. When that going to get cut back and quit passing that on to the buyers of cars ??? Its always the workers isn''t it, never the Upper Management, or poor business practices, I guess that just can''t be ! Not to mention the multi-millions they spend attending the high dollar auto shows around the country every year showing off their over engineered junk, most of us can''t buy !!

The unions should have just leveraged their pension funds and bought Chrysler. That way, they would have no one to blame but them selves if things did not work out.

If the UNIONS are so good for workers, why have the THUG UNION BOSES pay to have the POLITICANS pass rules that do NOT allow a secret vote on whether a UNION will be FORCED on workers? Now the UNION BOSES know if you vote against the UNION, and now you, your family and job can all be threatened!

Most of the UAW workers have no idea what a sweet job they have. Most of them started just after high school, and have never worked a horrible job. The average UAW person in our plant makes around $70,000.00 gross per year including overtime. Their health insurance is free, they have generous vacation hours, GM pays for a large share of college cost for their kids, work clothes are free, plus numerous other benefits. I have only seen one worker who was fired not get rehired after the contract is settled. The "skilled" workers with overtime make over $100,000.00 a year. Believe me, they are skilled by title only. Factory automation and new electronic controls have rendered the average electrician at the plant hopeless. Yet they are still paid overtime to watch a technician from the outside service the equipment. The normal American worker would take the UAW job for half the money and benefits and be ecstatic. The UAW is a dinosaur, slowly creeping towards extinction. The big three would then see better vehicles, and regain market share.

Cont. GM workers, Are you going to trust the unions with your pension fund, if so you will place those executives in similar luxury as with the GM wealthy management. What''''s the betting that before your pension is due it will have gone up in a puff of smoke.

What are you babbling about MORON?? The pension has been contolled by the Union since it''s very begining... ALL the pension, benefits and EVERYTHING else is part of the Bargaining Agreement. How stupid are you losers anyway. The LAWS of the Nation govern ALL pensions and those who ADMINISTER them are responsible under those laws to make sure they are properly funded. EVERY single Pension that is run by a Union is funded PROPERLY, NOT ONE has ever been turned over to the Pension Garentee Corporation. Sad to say that''s not the case when Corportations have run those pensions.... A MAJORITY of them have been underfunded.

GM has learned very little from their experience in the UK, Big payouts to the CEO and the Board, very little if anything on investment. Pathetic management who are not fit to run a doughnut franchise and old jazzed up designs. This malaise runs right through corporate America to the cost of ordinary people, they get rich and fat whilst *** the little guy. It starts in the White House and goes right on down to senior management. The Elite are raping this country and it''s people. It will not be a surprise if the whole of our manufacturing base is moved to Mexico, Vietnam or China, they have manufactured this strike to give them the excuse to do just that very thing.

As for Dr Ron Paul, please don''t take his name in vain, simply vote for him.

Unions serve no purpose anymore. They only exist for the purpose of legalized extortion.

it costs more to get to work than i make working.
gas, maintenance, car loan payment, repairs, saving
for a new one with future value savings, auto club,
car insurance, registration, driver''s license.
and the risk involved too of getting to work
and back. arab oil embargo of 1974. arab oil
embargo 1979. extra driving, cruising around driving?
that ended for me in 1974. only essential driving
allowed. people blow gas like there''s no tomorrow.
and they are all borrowing from tomorrow too.
the day of reckoning will come. who are you gonna
hit up for a loan then?

I have to Agree totally, its NOT the Workers fault at GM or any other Company for that matter, rather they make cars or sandwiches, make NO Difference ! The real Culpit here is actually these CEOs, of these Car Companys, and the Many Doctors, and Hospitals that are Driving up the cost of Healthcare for everybody, Union or NON-Union, makes no difference ! I''m talking about charging 12.00 for an asprin, that type of scenerio stuff. Then these Corporate CEOs, think they''re worth "Multi-Millions" or in some cases "Billions" in salary and other Perks, theres the real problem ! If it weren''t for Unions, at least some Unions, there''d be more Wal-Mart style Management and Poorer working conditions out here now ! Also, thats not been said by the news media or anybody else for that matter, its not Just the auto workers who''ve been laid off, but also the vendors who serve these auto plants, as well, they''ll be forced to cut back or lay off their staff as well , even the truckers who haul parts into GM, and haul the cars off assembly Lines, these people also will be affected! So lets not forget about those workers as well who don''t necessairly work directly for GM ! Also food for thought, I believe "Harley Davidson" workers are under the UAW Contract too, wonder if they''ll be honoring the Strike ? I know Harley shut Down 4 plants for a week, because of Slow Sales, and the Sluggish Economy, it was announced last week!
